Vehicle Detail
Here is a great opportunity for all you VW enthusiasts. An actual uncompleted barn find project (actually found in an airplane hanger), was under construction by an informed VW amateur hobbyist. So here's your chance to finish this great looking V-dub resto-mod project to your liking. This '59 bug project started with a Baja chop job. A '68 bug donor car gave it's back end and was grafted to the '59. Also coming from the '68 was the driver's door. The tired '59 front axle was replaced with one from a '62 bug. The high back front seats came from a '72 I was told. The stock rear seat, and the passenger front seat have already been recovered, but the driver's seat still needs to be done. The new fabric and foam base cushion is included. There is new sound deadener material installed. The new headliner is in place, but needs to be stretched. A new carpet kit is also included. The door panels need to be made...an original is there to make a pattern. The bug, as you can see, received a decent amateur two-tone paint job (green on the front part, blue on the rear) with some retro-looking graphics. The graphics are also on the dash. The body was de-chromed, and the holes were filled. There are some scratches on the paint from moving the car around...but not bad. All the glass is present. Now for the GOOD STUFF! The engine is a GEX rebuilt 1600 dual port unit. According to the GEX tag attached: engine no. H0375926, part no.10605XTK and according to GEX.com web site, this engine sell for $2,599.00!!! The trans is also a GEX rebuild unit. The GEX tag reads trans no. 9862901, part no. 136768, and also according to the GEX.com site sells for $499.00 plus core charges. Other new parts include: Muffler and exhaust, wiring harnesses, master cylinder, brake shoes, brake lines and hoses, assorted cables, gaskets, lights, bearings, and on and on. Look at the engine pic...there's a new clutch attached!!!. Threre is even a new door handle and key for the '68 door. The obvious parts missing include a starter, battery, and hub caps...probably more, but these are what's obvious to me. The 165/R15 tires look to be brand new as well. Oh, one more thing....a tow bar is also included. Car is located in Crawford, CO 81415 which is approx. 75 miles SE of Grand Junction, CO or approx. 30 miles E of Delta, CO on Hwy 92. Buyer to pay $250 deposit by Paypal within 24 hours of purchase. Balance paid within 10 days. Car picked up within 30 days. The title will stay with the car, I will not send it to you....if you don't pick it up, I will resell it!! The price of this great project at less the cost of the rebuilt engine. Note, I have title in hand in my name. This car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the listing early. So Good Luck and happy motoring. This is the final time I will list this great VW project. There have been lots of lookers at the previous listings, lots of interest, but no one has stepped up to buy. I reduced the price to the lowest I can go. First bid wins, and you will get a great deal. Thanks for your interest.
