Vehicle Detail
Beautiful 1969 Camaro SS/RS big block 396-375hp for sale. This is truly a car that you need to see. The pictures do not do it justice. The car is an older concours restoration that can still compete with most newer restorations. The car appears to still have all of its original sheet metal. The quarters, trunk, floor pans, doors, fenders, trunk lid, hood, and all glass except the windshield appear to be original. You can still read the part numbers on the trunk drop offs that attach to the bottom of the quarter panels. The front subframe and bottom of the car have been restored to concours condition. The bottom of the car was cleaned and painted, not undercoated, and appears to be hiding nothing. The car was repainted its original 69B Cortez Silver and has a black vinyl top. The interior is very nicely trimmed in deluxe black comfortweave. The interior is coded for black houndstooth seats but the comfortweave looked so good that I left it as it was. The car is very nicely optioned with rear defogger, working factory 4 speaker stereo, tilt steering with deluxe wheel, auxillary lighting, tach and gauges, bumper guards, dual mirrors, tight ratio power steering and power disc brakes. It even has its original headlight washer system. The hideaway headlights work perfectly. I had the drive train and front suspension rebuilt. The engine appears original and is a 396 375hp 4 bolt main bored .30 over. It has new forged 11.5-1 compression pistons, original spec. 375 hp solid lift cam, steel crank, and dimple rods. It has 3919840 heads, the 3933163 intake, the correct carburetor, distributor, alternator, brackets, and pulleys. The motor was also balanced. It has the VIN stamped on the block. It also has the original type smog system that came on the car. The motor runs very strong and sounds great with the chambered exhaust system. The transmission is a Muncie 4 speed that was totally rebuilt. It is cast number 3925660 and has the cars VIN stamped on it. It also has the original shifter. The rear axle is the original 12 bolt posi. and had all bearings and posi clutches replaced. The front suspension was rebuilt with as close to original parts as could be found. The upper ball joints were riveted back as original. All inspection markings are on the suspension. The brake system was rebuilt using its original components. All components were replated back to their original colors. The Harrison radiator was recored and the original heater core was replaced. The car has original 14 X 7 rally wheels on it. This is a car that you can drive to any show or wherever you may want without worry. You are encouraged to view the car before bidding. You will not be disappointed with it. Please email any questions that you may have. As with any car this old, it is sold as is and without warranty. Please do not bid unless you intend to buy. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction any time if the reserve has not been reached. I will consider reasonable offers and will add a "Buy it Now" option if accepted.
