For sale is a 1966 AMC Rambler American 440. The engine is a 199 cubic inch with over-head valves. The engine has no smoke, no bearing noise- runs smooth, clean and quiet. The transmission is automatic and runs good. The brakes are good, the tires are good, and the tires have their original hubcaps. Muffler has a hole and needs to be replaced. The body is a 4-door sedan -original paint and in good to fair condition. The actual color is turquoise for inside and out. The car needs very little body work. There is rust by the rear left fender edge (see picture) and the right front fender has a dent (see picture). The car comes with the original owner's manual plus other brochures plus spare parts- air filters, gas filters, misc engine gaskets. The car has its original spare tire and I don't think it has ever seen the pavement. The odometer says 25, 109 miles and I think its original by looking at the light wear on the gas and brake pedal and door strikers. But I have no way of verifying this. The underneath is good and clean. The interior is all original- in fair condition. Minor cracks but nothing major. We call this the Woodstock car because you can clearly see this car in the last three minutes of the movie Taking Woodstock.
