General: Listed is my, Incredibly Well Maintained, Very Low Mileage, 1980 Mercedes Benz 300SD TURBO DIESEL sedan. It is Silver Metallic with Black interior, and has 93,000 original, low miles. It has been garaged its whole life, and has never been involved in any accidents. RUST FREE. This car has spent its entire life, in CA, except for the past 3 years. . I purchased this vehicle because I know it to be a rare find. Upon ignition, the engine instantly starts, and RPMs are steady and smooth. The 5-Cylinder 3.0L Turbo Diesel Engine is very healthy, original, with no burning oil. The oil dipstick is clean, with no indications of burnt oil. The Turbo engages when it should, and provides additional power necessary for substantial acceleration. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and responsively. The front end suspension is solid (new components) with no drifting or vibration. All steering components are in fine working condition. Power brakes, when applied, are solid, responsive. R12 A/C system is new inclusive of compressor and dryer, and blows cold air (heat is working fine as well). Exhaust system is quiet and shows no indication of any corrosion. Bumper rubber and chrome are all in good condition. All carpet and upholstery is in good condition. All glass is free of chips, cracks and “stars”. All chrome, moldings and trim are in good condition. All lights and electronics are operating. Certificate of Title is free and clear of any liens (no floods, reconditioned or salvage problems). Full Discloser The dash has 2 small cracks.(See Picture) Minor upholstery tear, driver side.(See Picture) The front seat adjuster handles need to be replaced. Previously Listed: New Lower Reserve Replaced / New Components / Mercedes Parts by Certified Mercedes Mechanic New Brakes including master cylinder. Water pump, Air Conditioning Compressor/dryer upgrated to R12. New Mercedes battery. All new fluids, oil, transmission and brake system. Speedometer. New rear sway bar links. Left front window regulator. Removed engine and transmission and replaced water pump, ALL belts, seals, gaskets and hoses. Motor mounts and motor shocks. Common on auto’s stored for long periods of time without running engine that rubber parts become dry and crack which was the history of this Benz. Proactive approach was to replace these parts. Reason For Selling: I live in MSP and work in Milwaukee during the week. This car was purchased for local transportation while in MKE. My original intention was to drive this car for no less than 10 years therefore the above investment. Approximately 1.5 years ago I found a 1985 380SE with only 18,000 original miles, in show room condition at an estate sale. Purchased it on the spot. Cannot justify 2 classic Benz's that I drive less than 6,000 miles per year. 1980 Benz has been in climate controlled storage since that time.
