Vehicle Detail
1998 Suzuki Samurai ORIGINAL/UNCUT/NOT A TREE BANGER You are looking at a clean little Samurai. Not "the little old lady" story but pretty close. This was purchased by my Father living in South Carolina in 2004 from the original lady owner who bought it new because they were "cute". It had a bad motor and she didn't know where or how to get it replaced. Coming out of the south the body was in excellent condition (no major rust, big body damage etc). His purpose was to trailer it behind his RV as my parents retired and were doing the full time RV gig. As he was an old hot rodder he couldn't just throw a motor in it an go. He rebuilt it and used it the next 3 years to run around whatever town they were camped at. Long story short he got sick in 2007 and passed away in 2008 and left it to me. It has sat for the last 2 years just being driven occasionally in the winter time. Needs some TLC/cleaning from sitting but I think you will be hard pressed to find a cleaner one around for the money. Runs/drives great. 4 wheel drive works great. All in all a neat little rig to run around in or the perfect start for your custom Samurai build. It was rebuilt with the following: New Jasper motor (Approx. 20,000 miles on new motor) with header Tranny has new shifter with reworked/oversized shifter pin (the stock pin wears and falls out causing tranny damage, common problem on these) and heavy duty tranny mount. "Clicky"starter fix. Another common problem on these that was fixed New clutch/pressure plate Truck was dissasembled and painted Mopar Lime Fire Green (done right, including inside door jambs, under hood etc). New off road door panels Aftermarket tube bumpers front and rear New wheels and tires with matching spare. New sport top. Not cracked etc. As I stated this is a pretty clean little rig and just needs some TLC to be brought back up to speed. I wouldn't hesitate to jump in it and drive cross country, might take a while as these were not known for being speed demons. It does have a few flaws. The most noticeble being the front/ rear bumpers. The powder coat from the builder seems to have been pretty thin and they are starting to rust. No holes just scale. Drivers side outside door handle is broken. They were plastic and not known for being strong. I have seen aftermarket aluminum replacement handles. Black paint on lower body moulding starting to fade. Have noticed a couple of small spots of rust starting to bubble under the paint. The paint does have a few small chips but overall in excellent condition. I have described it as best I could. If you have any questions please email and I'll answer as best I can.
