Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1982 Honda Accord hatchback with 74807 original miles! This is a reliable daily driver that has been actively maintained since I got it three years ago. I'm the second owner after a professor of Romance languages who bought it new and rarely drove it. It was garaged until three years ago and thus has little of the notorious "Honda cancer" that is responsible for the complete dearth of these old cars. I've never had a single mechanical problem and have kept clean oil and fresh plugs in it. It runs great and uses no oil. I replaced the front rotors and pads last year. The front tires are three years old, with plenty of wear left. The rear tires were on the car when I got it, and have plenty of tread. It sticks to the ground amazingly well, kind of like driving a really comfortable go-kart. With rack and pinion steering, it's very responsive and handles effortlessly. There's an aftermarket Sony tape deck/AM/FM radio and aftermarket cheap 61/2's in the shock towers that my dad installed and with my mp3 player sounds decent. The A/C blows cold but the idle drops a bit when the compressor kicks on so it's better suited to keeping cool on the highway than start-stop traffic around town. It doesn't stall, but doesn't respond as fast at takeoff. I don't use it, but it works fine. The bad: it seems a little cold-natured and in the winter takes a few cranks and pumping the accelerator to get it started. Once warm, it runs great. I was backed into last year which put a large dent in the driver's side panel behind the door. The door is still fully functional and doesn't leak any water. I have the undamaged inner and outer trim pieces that if the body work was done would go right back on. Then about a month ago I backed into my dad's truck (!) resulting in a bent piece of chrome trim around the top of the bumper beneath the passenger side tail light assembly. The turn signal lens it broken in an area maybe 2"x2". There is a little rust forming around the rear wheel wells. I ground it to bare metal once and painted over it, but it's showing through again. Compared to other Hondas of this vintage, the rust is minimal. I get 25 MPG around town when dogging it; on highway drives it gets 30. The pain over most of the body is shiny and the chrome looks good. The interior could use a thorough cleaning but the car needs nothing to be your daily driver or an easy restoration for any Honda enthusiast! It still has the original floor mats. The clear plastic protector sheet from the factory is just starting to peel off the driver's side window crank! This car should go to a collector who can dedicate more time and effort into maintaining this unique little car. I'm twenty and going back to college in a couple months and though I love it, I bought a big wagon more suited to my needs and I can't afford to pay insurance on both. My loss is your gain! If interested, please call Noah Halvorson at (513) 368-4328 for more information or to set up a test drive. Thanks for your interest. The car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to remove the car if it sells here in Cincinnati. It is for sale As-Is with no warranty expressed or implied.
