HERE YOU HAVE A BEAUTIFULL FIRST YEAR DODGE VIPER RT/10, CAR #119, HAND BUILT BY CAROL SHELBY AND TEAM VIPER. AS YOU KNOW, ONLY 200 VIPERS WERE PRODUCED FOR THE US MARKET in 1992, THIS ONE HAVING ONLY 8,000 MILES! This Viper show car the took the world by storm at the Detroit Auto Show in 1989, with many saying it could not be built. It is of course the first modern 400HP super car, Viper RT/10, V10 488 cubic inch engine. It's place in automotive history is assured. As you probably already know, as one of the Viper forefathers, Carol Shelby played an integral role in all aspects of development of the Viper for Dodge. His stamp is all over the car, the objective being to build a moden Cobra. I wanted one when the first came out, alas with only 200 cars available, dealers routinely marked up many of the cars by 50%...... It took me quite a while to find a first year Viper this clean, I had to go to Texas to get it in 2000. I am the second owner, with the original owner having only put 1800 documented miles on the car during the 8 years he owned it. As you may know, a used car can not be titled in California unless in has 7,500 miles, which would make this the lowest mileage first year Viper you can get here in California. I drove the car sparingly in the 10 years I have owned it, eventually getting the car to 8000 miles, thus allowing me to title in California. As you can see from the pictures, it is exceptionally clean, never had any problems, has original tires, brakes, etc..... Always garaged an pampered. Includes both tops, the soft top, as well as the optional super cool bubble hard top. So, if you wanted one back when they first came out, this is as good as it gets! Some say this car was built to be driven fast, I never raced the car, it was babied. I had more fun cruising at low speeds listening to the rumble of the side pipes! You may have noticed may car enthusiast magazines have picked the first year Viper as one of the next ultra collectible vehicles. Given the extra clean condition & low mileage, this one is sure to appreciate.
