Nice 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible, or Galaxy as some spell it. Original color was Springtime Yellow, repainted in factory Ford Emberglo metalic (or Emberglow as I've seen it spelled also). 289 2 bbl, 3-speed automatic, has the C4 Cruise-o-matic "green dot" tranny. Has had lower rear quarter panels welded in, had the typical rust behind the rear wheels. Chrome is good, I have the wheel well trim pieces, the fronts are on but the rears have not been put on yet. Rears have some dings and corrosion, not great shape but I have them and they're nearly impossible to find. Bumpers good, lower rocker trim is good. Frame is great, no rust or problems at all that I saw. Underside of car is really good, no problems in floor pans or trunk whatsoever, very solid. Only problem was the rear quarters, which was repaired. Motor runs OK, is a little tired. No smoke or noises though at all. Starts and runs fine. Transmission shifts good but does leak. Shifts nice and smooth, no noise or problems other than leak. Every single interior and exterior light works as they should, courtesy lights, hi and low beams, dash, blinkers, stop and tail lights, trunk, ash tray, etc. Clock even ticks along although doesn't keep correct time. AM original radio works, just one speaker in dash. Previous owner put a small speaker in each door panel. Convertible top pump and pistons work great, goes up and down fine, no leaks. The top frame is good. I don't have a top installed on the car now, but I DO have a brand new black top in the box that will be included with the car. So brand new black top with a plastic window that is included with the car. I have a used black boot cover also included. I took out the gas tank and had it cleaned and coated iniside and out, it's like new. Fuel guage works. All new brake cylinders and brake lines, and brand new rebuilt master cylinder, so brakes are good. Manual brakes, NOT power. Power steering, works good. Factory air conditioning, the in-dash type, not the under-dash kind. I have the belt to the compressor off at the moment. No guarantee on how well it works, I never tried, and can't attest to it's cooling ability, etc. But it's all there and might just need to be converted and filled with new coolant. Hubcaps are good. Carpet is new but was cut a little short under the dash, a little of the floor board shows way up under the dash near the firewall. This is not a show car, I have a few kids with bikes in my garage so I didn't have it done to perfection, this was a driver for us to cruise around town and get ice cream on Sat nights! Body work isn't perfect, some imperfections in paint, etc. But it's in really good shape! Anyone local is more than welcome to stop by and look at the car, I would encourage that so you know what you are getting. I'm about 20 miles northeast of downtown St. Louis MO in Edwardsville IL zip 62025. Car can be driven away but I would not take it terribly far. If buyer is from far away I would suggest trailering it home as you never know with a 44 year old car! Clear title in my name. I also have some other spare parts that I could include as a separate purchase when buyer comes to take car. I have steering columns, extra bumpers, interior door panels, wheel well trim, tail lights, lettering, glass, grilles, etc. I'm sure I've forgotten a few things and will ad them as I remember, please ask all questions and I'll answer as best I can. I do have the car for sale locally also so if it sells here before there are any bids I will end the auction. Thanks!
