Up for auction is a beautiful, single owner 1969 Jaguar XKE 4.2L Roadster, finished in its original Regency Red over Black Leather interior with only 44,705 miles. This car is all original and has never been restored, repainted, updated or repaired due to an accident. It has always been stored indoors and was rust proofed numerous years ago. The beautiful paint shows the expected minor chipping and scratches. The exterior, interior and wheel chrome is in excellent condition but does have minor pitting. This car is a real runner. A little choke and the engine fires up and just wants to go. The steering is remarkably tight and drives “like it is on rails” as they say. The engine has the expected power you would anticipate from this car. The transmission shifts flawlessly and the clutch feels excellent. The suspension and brakes are both impressive and makes this is a really pleasurable car to drive. The original seats are respectable but there was some wear on the back of the driver’s seat from the convertible frame being pulled across it (expected operator fault). The rest of the leather is complete and needs attention to bring it back to original. The shifter boot is torn and will need to be replaced. The rest of the interior is in pretty good condition and will need some restoration. The rubber seals are all in need of replacement. The convertible top is in very good condition, as are the windows. The original jack and tool bag (minus the hammer) are with the car. Everthing on the vehicle appears to work with the exception of the clock and the emergency brake needs to have the cable re-strung.
