Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1948 Jeepster Phaeton. This is a very original Jeepster with the strong Hurricane 4 engine. I use it around Cape Cod, Massachusetts to go to the beach, get ice cream, glide in parades, go to baseball games, tailgate at football games and generally drive with the top down for daily errands. It has some extras from your standard Jeepster like duel Willys spotlights, Coker wide white wall tires, chrome interior wheel rims and a factory installed "ding dong" floor bell on the driver's floor. It has the original 3-speed on the column. I had the original overdrive re-installed for highway driving. Note the chrome eyebrow's over the headlights (so enemy aircraft could not see your headlights during night driving). Note also the Packard "Flying Swan" hood ornament. The red interior does not have any rips or tears. The new black canvas top has the original rear window intact (not plastic like most new tops). I have the original side windows. I have a custom black canvas tannaeu cover that snaps on behind the rear seats to cover the top when down and dress the car up a bit. I have the original Owner's Manual. There are some other items that I will include with the sale. The Buyer will be responsible to pick the car up or have it shipped. There are many car shipping firms on Cape Cod (this is a resort area where people routinely send their cars to FL, AZ etc.) I thought of negatives if I were looking at my Jeepster to buy. It is driven regularly so it has paint dings. There is one on the driver's side door, some on the running boards. There are a few small rust spots. I tried to take pictures to show these. To make it really show quality, you would want to get a paint job, but you do not "need" to paint it if you are like me and use the car for fun drives. The radio is not original. It is a '90's tape deck-type hooked up to speakers in the rear for cruising music. The original steering wheel needs to have the chrome horn rim installed better than it is. I have another horn that I use (not the ding dong bell). Summary: If you want a rare original '48 Jeepster that has been maintained and ready to go, this is for you. If you want to feel like it is 1948 again, put the shift in neutral, pump the pedal a few times, push the starter button and listen to the throaty sound of this head turner...off you go! If you have additional questions, please feel free to call me (Neal) at 508-413-2590. I am in Massachusetts, so please take note to call using Eastern Standard Time protocol. Thanks.
