This is a 1998 Trooper with Performance AND Luxury packages. We have owned it for over 8 years and have all maintenance and repair records since purchased including the original window sticker. It currently has just under 176,000 miles. While it's been a faithful servant, the transmission recently started acting up and it's time to move on. Our loss is your gain! Features This Trooper is a rugged classic with excellent 4wd capabilities. It has the performance package which includes a Limited Slip Differential and the BorgWarner Torque On Demand system which allows you to shift into 4WD on the fly with the push of a button and automatically varies the torque between the front and rear axle depending on traction conditions. We also had the factory Isuzu hitch installed. Included in the luxury package is a HUGE sunroof, leather interior, woodgrain trim, power driver and passenger seats, fog lights and privacy glass It has the rare Mica Green color scheme with the two tone paint and chrome trim. Condition I value my rating of 100% feedback and am disclosing all we know about the condition of this truck. However, it is a 12 yr old vehicle. Overall, this Trooper is clean and has been well cared for. It has Michelin Cross Terrain tires installed a couple years ago and they sitll have plenty of tread. There are a couple areas on the exterior where corrosion is beginning to bubble through on front passenger door and front lip of the hood (see pics). The drivers mirror is loose and the CD player ate a CD a while back and hasn't worked since. Mechanically, the vehicle starts right up and the brakes and battery were recently replaced. In general we have always had the vehicle serviced at the Isuzu dealer and used OE parts for work done. The short block of the engine was replaced under warranty by Isuzu at around 60k. The muffler is on it's way out, but the vehicle is quiet enough to drive as is. The rear defroster has a few dead lines and I add oil probably every ~1000 miles. The windshield is cracked, but out of view along the bottom by the dash. The major issue is the transmission. When placed in 'Drive' or '3' within a couple minutes it will begin flaring and shifting erratically until the 'Check Trans' light comes on. The vehicle DOES drive and shift into reverse. However, you mush leave it in '2', which limits how fast you can go, but it will drive fine . I did take it to one transmission shop, who indicated that it needed to be replace. I've found used transmissions for $300-$400, but just don't have the time and reluctantly have to sell this very cool vehicle.
