If you're looking for something different than this is it. Stands out from the sea of Camaros, Chevelles, and Mustangs. 1962 Mercury Comet 2dr Sedan. This is probably one of the most solid, driveable, mostly original Comets that you will find on the east coast at this price. I have put 10,000 miles on this car over the past four years, including trips to North Carolina and Ocean City. I have done a full list of mechanical repairs including completely new brakes all around (shoes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, hardware, lines, turn drums, wheel bearings, axle bearings) and upgrades including more modern autolite 1100 carburetor, Pertronix electronic ignition, and Delco alternator. Body and interior are presentable, but not show quality. 20+ years old repaint blistered, chipped. Interior appears to have been redone at some point, is black and white all vinyl (original was cloth inserts?), cracking and tearing, headliner needs to be redone is falling down. Small rust spots popping in places but mostly sound and solid, undercarriage is perfect except for 2-3" area at driver's toe board. I have $8500 invested in this car, not including my labor time. Unfortunately circumstances force me to offer it for sale, and price has been cut from $4500 to $3250. Car must go.
