1983 Mercedes Benz 240D. 2.4 liter Diesel with automatic transmission. Code 620 Light Ivory with palomino MB-Tex interior. 222,000 miles. This vehicle was purchased new at Kimball motors of San Luis Obispo, CA. The original owner kept the car until 2009, at which time she was too old to continue driving. It was meticulously maintained by the dealer and by Rizzoli’s Automotive; a prestigious European garage. When not on the road, this car was always garaged in a dry moderate climate. Unlike most Mercedes of this vintage, this car has very few signs of wear. The seats, carpet and trim are all like new. The paint has very few faults and there is Zero rust. All of the rubber and plastic on this car are excellent. We have gone through this car and inspected every mechanical aspect and have replaced anything that needed updating, such as brake pads, front crank seal, and Air Conditioning compressor. We have just adjusted the valves, changed the oil and had the front end aligned. It starts up very well with no smoke and makes good power for a 240D. The transmission shifts perfectly and there are no unusual noises. The only system that does not work is the cruise control, which will need a rebuilt amplifier. This car is completely original except for a Pioneer CD/mp3 player and upgraded speakers. If the buyer would prefer to have the original Becker cassette, we can install that.
