Drive this beautiful 1949 Plymouth Special Deluxe to your local cruise-in and heads will turn! Older restoration but still a dazzler. I have to sell my toy due to financial hardship. If you'd like a car you'd be proud to be seen in, yet not worry about investment or scratching a showroom resto, this driver will fit the bill. I bought the car a few years ago, drove it 500 plus miles home. A year later, a piston ring broke. I didn't skimp, a full $6,000 plus engine restoration to original specs has the straight six purring. Less than 3000 miles since the engine restoration. You can drive this car anywhere with confidence. This cruiser has just enough needed tinkering to give you some rewarding servicing to make. Here's the list of imperfections: A slight LF wheel cyl. leak makes a weekly master cylinder fillup necessary. A new master cylinder goes with the car. Brakes work fine. Original AM radio is out of car, but I have it and it goes with car. Wiper linkage puked, it's ready for conversion from vacuum to electric. Never drove the car in the rain anyway, so who needs 'em. Lights all work, but now needs a brake light switch. Original 6volt system still working, including generator. Horn quit, I think it needs new wiring. It looks beautiful from 10 feet, but close inspection shows some bubbling under paint. It will soon need some touch up repairs. It's a great looking car, but there are some scratches and dings. Pictures show it away and up close. Gas sending unit needs a new float, but it will work then...for now I just use the odometer. Speedo works but isn't accurate at highway speed. You'll cruise along at 65-70mph but the gauge will show about 10 mph slower. At city speeds it works fine. oil pressure, amp meter, water temp work perfect. 55mph air conditioning works great! Just push the lever down and that hood vent gives you all the cooling you need! Here's all the good: Tires, engine, floors solid, upholstery & headliner beautiful, glass, chrome, trunk, working heater! This car wasn't made with turn signals or seat belts..and it's still factory specs. You can see from the photos, a dazzling teal with clear coat paint job, extended in to the interior dash, matching trim & upholstery give the car a great look. Please look at the pics, I've described it as detailed as possible...it's beautiful, but it's not perfect. Yes, you can enjoy driving this right away. I wish I didn't have to sell, but you know the economy. Thanks for bidding, you'll not be disappointed. The reserve won't come close to covering just the engine restore, so this car WILL sell! It's priced to sell, not to look pretty here. Car is NOT listed for sale locally, but the word is out that it's for sale and already people are stopping at my house!
