Vehicle Detail
I bought this truck from Don Nells, an older gentleman from Thompson, OH and he owned it for most of its life. Don maintained the truck very regularly and even passed on the original window sticker. Don recently put $715 into brakes and a starter when the truck had 74,000 and I added another $1,300 in March to completely rebuild the front end and add an exhaust system. The battery looks like new and a new fuel tank was put in a couple of years ago. I ran a Carfax on it before I bought it from Don and I still have the paperwork, which is perfect in every way. I bought the 97 because after that year, they used the lousy individual ceramic coil system, which are a pain in the rear, as I found out they break fairly easily in my 98 Crown Victoria. I wanted the truck perfect for my son, who just received his driver's license last week. Now the truck purrs like a kitten and starts, stops and shifts like a new truck. It also tacks down the road nice and straight and handles with precision and stability. Honestly, I love this truck and prepared it for the long haul with my family... but, mom thinks it's too big for our son and she wants something smaller for him to drive. My argument was that he needed something big and beefy with little room for passengers, as he's kind of a popular kid. However, she won and the truck is going to go to some lucky fella or damsel who will have a nothing to do, but drive it down the road for years without worrying about the typical maintenance items breaking down like brakes, exhaust and front end... it's all done! That said, it's not the prettiest truck on the road, as it has several surface scatches and one big ding (see picture) right into the corner of the back fender. However, she's not a rust bucket, looks nice and straight and the paint is fairly shiney. The interior has no rips and is in decent shape for your typical truck. Everything works inside, including the gauges, power windows and power locks. The tires are about halfway used and I put new center caps on, but one fell off the back wheel. The only thing I can see for this truck in the future are those lousy CO-2 sensors that go off at any sign of difference in the flow of the exhaust. My mechanic said it would be a waste to replace them, as they do not affect the performance of the truck at all. Also, the windshield has a crack that does not leak when it rains, but will most likely require a replacement. So, if you're looking for a truck that'll last year several more years down the road without having to replace a ton of parts, feel free to consider this the perfect match. Be sure to check out my feedback profile of 1,870 all positive comments in order to feel secure in your bid on my vehicle. I'm a very honest seller who expects the very same in return. Buyer is responsible for shipping, but I will certainly work with the shipper to make sure it is properly loaded and on it's way safely. I will also be willing to pick you up from Detroit Metropolitan Airport if you're flying in to drive it home. I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country, as it's very solid, well maintained and ready to roll. Please contact me prior to bidding if your feedback is zero, or you have had a negative feedback in your last transaction. I am selling a very nice truck with a starting bid well below everything else with this kind of maintenance, records and Carfax, so I will not tolerate any bidders who do not follow through with the transaction. Your winning bid is binding and you will be 100% responsible for the NONREFUNDABLE deposit within 48 hours and full payment. I'm a private seller, so the high bidder will be responsible for the taxes incurred from their state of origin. I am not charging any taxes or processing fees of any kind, so you might want to consider this a bonus from buying from a dealer. My truck, even though is in great shape for a 1997 Ford F-150, is being sold as is, without any warranties expressed or implied. If you are the high bidder, the truck is yours or yours alone once you make payment and pick it up from my driveway. Feel free to make arrangements to come by and check out the truck or send an inspector if you'd like at your own expense. However, because I have no plate or insurance, I cannot allow long trips around the city and would like to limit the drives to the immediate neighborhood. Be sure to ask any questions ahead of time and good luck during the auction.
