For Sale: 1992 BMW 525it Touring Wagon. This vehicle has a cracked head, confirmed by local shop. The car will start and run, it can be driven onto a trailer or flatbed, but it will overheat if you drive it anywhere. Has around 181k miles. Good vehicle for someone with experience working on BMWs. No reason you can't put a head on this and go another 200k, the bottom end of the motor is all good. My girlfriend was driving it, she noticed it was getting hot, she pulled over and turned it OFF, at which point the top radiator hose blew and it had to be towed. It was NOT RUN HOT! She didn't try and "get it home", shut it off immediately. No oil visible in coolant, no coolant visible in oil. The Good: Vehicle has been well maintained throughout its life, absolutely no rust, no accidents. Ive had it for about 3 years. I had a qualified mechanic do the timing chain, water pump, PCV valve, fuel filter, new belts and hoses, seals, etc. less than 10k miles ago when I got it. Also replaced power steering/hydraulic lines so no leaks there. Leather interior is in decent shape, one hole in drivers seat. Power Heated seats all work. No cracks in dash, no cig burns or smells. A/C blows cold, all lights and gauges work properly. Transmission shifts smooth with no hitches or slips. 2 Way sunroof works, seals tight with no leaks. Rear hatch and liftback work perfectly and stay open thanks to new struts. Wired for satellite radio, head unit NOT included. I am leaving the aftermarket stereo adapter so you can just hook a head unit of your choice directly up. Factory speakers are good. Speed rated TOYO PROXES tires, in great shape. K&N lifetime air filter. Bavarian Autosport performance chip. Vehicle for sale as-is, where-is with no warranty expressed or implied and the knowledge that the motor has a CRACKED HEAD. Vehicle will have to be towed, which will be the responsibility of the buyer. Seller accepts CASH. This is a good solid project car with a clean CARFAX showing no accidents and a clear title in hand.
