1978 MERCEDES BENZ 300CD LOW MILE DIESEL COUPE WITH BIODIESEL WVO CONVERSION General: This car is being offered with a vegetable oil conversion. This car will run on Straight Vegetable Oil, Waste Vegetable Oil, Biodiesel, Diesel, or a combination of any of these fuels. The single tank conversions are the easiest and most efficient way to run vegetable oil in your vehicle. If you are environmentally conscious, this is the vehicle for you. It is side by side with the engine shots of this coupe. It is for illustration only to show you what the conversion system looks like if you choose to have it installed. This coupe is very clean inside and out and has only 88,000 miles on it, which is very low miles for these cast iron head diesel engines that have been known to go a million miles. Features: Milan Brown exterior, with Bamboo MB-Tex interior. 5-Cylinder, 3.0 liter, single overhead cam, automatic transmission, power assisted 4-wheel disc brakes, automatic sunroof, A/C and heat climate control, power windows, central locking, power steering, cruise control, quartz chronometer, alloy wheels, front center folding arm rest, Burl wood dash trim and console, combed wool carpet, 2-speed windshield wiper with 5-second mist interval control, parcel nets. Comes with nicely tinted windows. A/C blows cold and in the center vents too. Exterior Condition:Paint is in excellent condition with some minor imperfections. There are 3 spots where water has gotten under the paint. I have pictured them. 2 are at the base of the windshield, around the black vents. 1 is under the word "300CD". I can have my Mercedes Paint man restore these to excellence at your request. The exterior rubber and chrome are all in good condition. All the glass is in great shape and the emblems are shiny and in excellent condition. The front grill is in excellent shape. All trim is in place and in good condition. The overall impression of the exterior is excellent. Interior Condition: The Mb Tex is in excellent condition. The seats are firm and comfortable and in excellent condition. The dash has one crack in the center. The headliner is in excellent condition as is the carpet. The door panels are in great shape as you can see in the photos, with one small tear shown. The instrument panel and center console are in excellent condition. Overall the interior impression on this car is more of a new car, than a used one. I forgot to shoot the seat belt holder, which is in excellent condition as well. Mechanical Condition: Mechanically this car is very sound. The transmission shifts smooth in all gears. The engine in this car performs nicely with good power and torque. This vehicle accelerates well through all gears. There are no leaks in the exhaust and it is smooth running at all speeds. The alignment is true with no pulling during braking with no excess play in the steering wheel. The brakes are strong and the suspension is tight and the car handles beautifully. The Goodyear tires are in excellent condition with 75%+ tread on them. This car has many years of trouble free motoring to come. I would feel confident in this vehicle on a long road trip in its excellent condition. Accessories Condition: All electronics are functioning in the vehicle. All power windows are working.. The sunroof functions properly and is smooth and strong. The radio and power antenna function properly. The climate control is working properly in the car and the AC blows cold. Center vents blow cold too! Lights all work well, along with turn signals, head lights, high beams, fog lights, brake lights, parking lights, reverse lights, license plate lights, etc. All instrument panel gauges function properly. The vacuum system works properly with the exception of the door locks which are not functioning properly. I can have that dialed in before shipping if you choose. Vegetable Oil Conversion: True Earth Motors WVO/Biodiesel conversion is the finest in the world. The owner combined the best technologies available and added his own features as well. This system is designed to preserve the integrity of the engine, as well as burning the oil completely, and efficiently. The conversion is based on a 2 micron filter/water separator that has a top loaded 100 watt heating element that automatically turns on when temperatures fall below 60F and turns off when the oil reaches 85F. This insures that the veg oil will flow through your filter no matter how cold it gets outside. The final heat stage comes from injector line heaters that get the fuel nice and hot quickly. These heaters will get the fuel to 170F within 3 minutes and if you turn them on before you start the car you will be insuring that hot oil is reaching the injectors right away. This will insure easy starts, even on cold mornings and also insure proper and complete burning of the oil which is critical for the health of your engine. This is considered a temperate climate single tank conversion designed for Southern California. It can be modified to work in any climactic conditions, so please ask any questions you have before bidding.
