Vehicle Detail
I'll give you the good, bad, and ugly. Please feel free to ask any questions or if you would like additional pictures, I'll email them to you. I've had this car for three years and NEVER had any problems with the way it drives. No rips or tears are present in the top and works perfectly when when putting it down and putting it back up. The only immediant thing that I know that needs to be done is the brakes. I have not driven the car since last year and now they grind when stopping. The check engine light ALWAYS stays on. It read a bad o2 censor last year. I had both replaced, the engine light was still on, they checked it and it still read bad o2 censor, they checked the censors and they were working properly - no idea why the light stays on, but the car checked out to be fine last year when I quit driving it. The abs light is on now too. I noticed it during my weeklly drive down the street and back so the battery does not die. No idea with that either, but like I said, the car will immediately need brakes. There are paint chips in the hood and both doors. There's also a quarter sized dent in the bottom of the passenger door with paint chipping. I also lost one hub cap. I brought a new glove compartment latch and now it sticks. When using the AC or heat, you have to put the blower on high. It does not blow adequately on low or medium. It does blow out lots of AC or heat when needed. The title is clasified as a rebuilt. I think that covers the ugliness of this car. With its flaws, it still drives fine and had always been reliable. Lots of summer fun with the top down. This would be a great first car for a teenager (minor flaws, reliable, tons of fun, good gas milage). If you're local, please feel free to come take it for a test drive. Good luck with bidding and have fun! On Aug-14-10 at 05:25:43 PDT, seller added the following information: 8-14-10 I took the car for a run down the street last night to keep the battery good and test the a/c. The a/c is not blowing out a/c air (not cold enough). I'll have it checked on Tuesday which is my next day off and post a note. Just keep in mind I have no idea what's going on compared to last summer. On a good note, the ABS light is not on any longer. I think it has not been used enough, but has been getting drives down the street to keep the battery good. It just went off last night...no idea why!!!On Aug-18-10 at 10:35:45 PDT, seller added the following information: 8-18-10 AN UPDATE ON THE A/C.... It's a long story so try to stick with me. The a/c has a low, medium, and high setting. When placed on the low or medium setting, the real a/c trickles out when the car is in motion (not when parked). When you turn it on high, a lot of cold air blows out, but it's not real a/c air (blows when in motion and when parked). The auto mechanic said it could be 30 different things and he could fix it with multiple hours of diagnostics or taking the dash apart. I'm not doing it or spending the time just to figure out whats going on. Please bid on this car if your handy and won't mind trying to figure out what happened or if your type of air conditioning is putting down the top and don't mind trickles of a/c. It's not my cup of tea. So in a nutshell, real a/c trickles out on the low or med setting when the car is in motion, but regular cold air blows on high when driving or parked. Thanks for being patient and I hope this all makes sense. On a good note, gotta complete oil change today so it should be ready for the road. You're always suppose to end all topics on a good note. Happy bidding!!!
