Vehicle Detail

Hello, I am selling my 1975 Firebird, I bought this car about 2 years ago, I was fresh out of high school and I always had a thing for firebirds, I bought this car with painting it in mind so I took an auto body class at a local community college, that has since been closed down due to lack of funds. I used it as a daily driver to drive to and from work for majority of the time. It was originally a 6 cyl. car, about 10 months after I purchased it I was able to save up enough money to have the engine swapped out for a Chevy 350 that came out of a 1978 Camaro. The engine is hooked up to headers, that hook up to Glasspacks, and dump out a little past the front seats, sounds good IMO, I also have the manifolds for the 350 if you want them I can ship them to you in the trunk of the car. The previous owner was the 2nd owner of the car with his mother being the original owner, he told me that the car was salvaged because a car had hit him. He had some body work that was done to it along the sides of the doors and part of the front fenders, the body work, needs some work, I got started on the driver side door as you can see in the pictures, I didnt worry too much about the body work because I bought a 1970-73 Front clip fenders forward that I still have (bumper, valance, both fenders, lights etc. I am only missing the bumper brackets, I can work something out with the winner of the auction if you are interested) Besides the body work the car is pretty good it does not have major rust that I can see, what I can see seems to be small amounts of surface rust that can be sanded down, I am not an expert but nothing looks to be rotten that I have noticed, as you can see by the picture of the trunk and how clean it is. The lower valance is for the most part missing. The car is 35 years old, and like most cars has its minor details, the power windows work fine most of the time, sometimes you have to press the switch for it to go up but it will go up, the driver side door like most F-Body cars sags, because the door is so long and heavy this is usually the case with most firebirds, to close it you have to, lower the window and press it in from the outside, the passenger side door lock has to be messed with to lock but it will eventually lock, the passenger side door only sags a little bit. The interior of the car is in my opinion really good for a car that is 35 years old, as you can see from the pictures both front seats look great, the only seat that has a tear is the driver seat and that seat had been upholstered when I first got it, I accidentally left a pen in my back pocket, and sat down and ripped the seat, the tear is very small, both the back seats are good no rips, the biggest thing about the interior is the headliner, the car will need a new headliner. The backseat behind the passenger seat has faint tire marks that were left because the previous owner had a spare in the backseat. I was thinking that this car could either make a good, cheap, project for someone who likes firebirds and has body work skills, or can be a GREAT car for car parts, the car starts right up all the time and has never left me anywhere, I always get compliments about the interior about the car, I have the fusebox cover that goes under the steering wheel, but it was not on in the pictures, I also have what seems to be the original doughnut spare tire with the original piece that fastens it to the trunk in both in excellent shape but didnt show because I was cleaning out the trunk . I want to be COMPLETELY HONEST about everything because its just the kind of person I am, if you have any question dont be afraid to ask, thank you for looking and happy bidding. Payment: $500 deposit to be made withing 48 hours of end of auction, Via PayPal, if you have other methods of pay, send me a message before bidding please. Shipping: I can help you get a quote, but I will not provide for shipping costs. On Aug-10-10 at 22:31:23 PDT, seller added the following information: This car is a Firebird Espirit, another thing I wanted to mention is that 2 or 3 times in the past for some reason when I drove slow (around 5 mph) the brakes felt like they were a little sensitive, braking a little more than I expected, I drive my car daily and I never really looked into it because it never happened to me at high speeds the 2 or 3 times it did happen happened when I was driving backing out of a parking lot and slowing down for a speed bump, just trying to be 100% honest.
