Vehicle Detail
This fine German automobile is not only a classic, but is in pristine showroom condition, recently repainted at a custom paint shop with new silver gloss metallic paint, and matching bumper to match, at over $1,000. This is truly an auto for the Mercedes enthusiast and collector who also wants to have a dependable daily driver that still looks like a classic Mercedes, with its unique hood star logo, on a rust free, always garaged and new appearing car body and interior. This was the most highly engineered and first Mercedes Benz "EXECUTIVE SPORTS SEDAN" which took $900 million of engineering research, Its original MSRP in 1988 was $37,200, which was lot back then, and was the same body style until 1993, when it became the E Class, and carries this link until today. I have the original window sticker for this automobile. It was engineered with the most advanced 5 link patented suspension that is now standard on all present C Class and E Class models that retail up to $75,000 today. This sedan was engineered with front and rear anti-sway roll bars for the front and rear which was designed to take tight curves on the Autobahn at high speeds instead of rolling around like their American cousins, and it has the tightest turning radius of any such automobile at 34 feet allowing full u-turns on even the tightest of city streets. The 190E was designed to have very low audible outside road noise, and remains quiet at all speeds. It had ABS brakes before they were available on domestic cars, and standard features like air conditioning, which works well by the way, and all sorts of gadgets that were still just a glimmer in other cars of that time. This auto was restored to its original glory, and was thoroughly inspected with every detail attended to and serviced by a high end quality local Mercedes Benz Dealership where the master mechanics all took turns admiring it. It has almost new Pirelli Tires, new brakes and a new exhaust, with fresh fluids service to complement its mechanical needs. For the final touches, yes it has its original tool kit and first aid kit as well. The engine compartment is spotless, the door jambs are spotless, the original interior is as good as it was on its first outing, and I have ordered a brand new custom dashboard cover, since due to the heat of the sun through the windows, and due to the fact that the original dash covers were made of a padded leather-like material they sometimes develop heat stress cracks after so many years. I now have it and it looks great with the matching color. This is an outstanding dependable high line automobile, it is a Mercedes Benz, a real classy automobile that will be good to 400,000 miles and more with regular maintenance. It is a 4 cylinder auto but was rated at 0-60 miles in 11 seconds, and had the nickname of "speed demon". If you are in the market for a dependable classic that looks like it is new, this is the auto for you, instead of some clunker with lots of wear and tear. You will be proud to own this auto and have it parked in your driveway or city high rise garage. The car body is perfect, except for a small indentation on the right side front wheel well where the auto was pushed over a parking bump, and it can easily be left alone as it is not really detracting from anything but a body shop or even a handy person can make it perfect at his own pace and when and if wanted or desired by the new owner. Best is to see it and make an Offer to buy...Thanks for reading. Here are some Questions and answers related to this listing: Question & Answer Answered On Q: why repainted? any damage that caused it? bumpers do not seem to be original-nor rubber but metallic paint..correct? thx Aug-09-10 A: No damage at all, the previous owner just wanted a new paint job and asked the paint shop $1000, to paint them to match...actually looks very nice. I liked it when I got it...he traded it in at CARMAX and they sold it...it looks like new all original everything works except slow driver's window... Q: HELLO, HAVE YOU INSTALLED THE NEW DASHPAD COVER,HOW DOES SHE RUN AND SHIFT. I WOULD BE BUYING THIS FOR MY DAUGHTER,AND WOULD WANT A SAFE AND RELIABLE CAR AS WELL AS LOOKS. THANKS GARY Aug-08-10 A: Thanks for your Offer. The car's paint job was $1000 and the tires wheels are worth $700, the rest of the car is then free, and based on its mint condition, your offer is neither reasonable or fair, but just a low ball that I can not accept. That price may be appropriate for a rusty hulk, not this auto which is in pristine condition. Make me a reasonable Offer. There us a lot of interest in the car and I am certain it will sell shortly, first come first serve...this is a very reasonable price for a fine auto like this in this great condition, I think that you will agree. Just look at the other cars, you can not get anything that is not a rusty piece of unreliable junk at the price you are bidding, I would not put my daughter into a car that is not this well maintained, and this is a nice auto that will look good in your driveway for your daughter...I am having it serviced this week with recharged AC. Q: Does the AC work? lloyd.ivan@gmail.com Aug-08-10 A: Yes, and it has also a spare resistor for CLIMATE CONTROL, it is set with a dial for air temperature. I am having it also charged up this week.
