Vehicle Detail

Look! NO RESERVE ON THIS BIG BLOCK MOPAR! Bid now and you will own her! I need to clear the driveway and have removed the reserve from this car! 1963 Chrysler New Yorker. 413 V-8, Push button Automatic Torqueflite Factory Options include A/C and deluxe heater, power steering and brakes, power windows, AM radio, windshield washer. Car has not been driven to speak of for the last 3 years. The old carb was running real rich, so put on an Edelbrock carb. It is running OK, but still seems to have a miss...probably needs more carb adjustment or an ignition tune up. All the electric windows go up and down surprisingly well. Tires are pretty old, so you will probably want to trailer it or replace those to take it home. All accessories, lights, etc,. seem to work except for the air conditioning. Comes with a set of NOS rocker panels that have never been installed on a car. Please ask any questions and bid to own it. Buyer must contact me within 24 hours of winning the auction. $300 non-refundable deposit via PAYPAL required within 24 hours of winning the auction Title is ready to go, and I have the seller's permit ready also. Located conveniently off I-90, Exit 57, in Rapid City, SD. If you are near Rapid City you are welcome to come and check it out, evenings best. Contact me for more info. Please note that if you have feedback of less than +5 you should contact me or your bid will be cancelled. Here is some history on the car: The Chrysler New Yorker was in the Pierre, SD area for most of it's existence. I believe that the prior owner mentioned it had also had an owner in the Nebraska Sand Hills/Valentine NE area. In the late 70's or early 80's, the owner decided to set this up for towing. He added an auxiliary transmission cooler, a trailer brake, an old DeSoto mirror on the right side, and heavy duty shocks with overload springs on the rear. However, he never got around to actually installing a hitch. The car sat for a long time and was purchased from his heirs in Pierre, I believe in 2004 or 2006. That owner drove the car from Pierre, SD to Newell. That was about a 200 mile trip. Other than around the block, that is the last time the car was really driven. I bought the car from the guy in Newell and drove it up on to a trailer. When I got it home I drained the fuel tank, replaced the fuel pump and carburetor. Oh yeah, it does have a huge new battery that I put in it last year; something like 900 CCA. That is about it.On Aug-07-10 at 11:48:29 PDT, seller added the following information: Here is some more info to answer common questions I have received: I bought the rocker panels because I was surprised to see them available and thought they would be good to have if I ever got around to a full restoration. The rocker panels on the car appear decent but I have never removed the trim to inspect underneath them. There is some rust bubbling up at the front of the left rocker, on the vertical surface...but the bottoms are good. Interior headliner is good, I think the front armrests need recovered, door panels are good except for the carpet at the bottom of them which is discolored/faded. The left rear door panel has one tear about1.5 inches long that just happened last week. Headliner is good, sun visors good, rear parcel shelf needs repainted but is intact and no holes cut in it. Carpet is old and needs replaced, especially since the right front section was cut out. Rear seat cover is intact but the fabric feels dry and brittle. Front seat isn't destroyed but needs recovered, the fabric has started to open up at the seams and expose the foam underneath. The vinyl is pretty good and could probably be re-used. Trunk floor is good, rear inner quarters are good, the lower quarters have light surface rust...apparently from where the metal was exposed due to gravel chips. They would be good if sanded down and painted. The right front floor has a a few pinholes and two spots about the size of a quarter rusted through. One is where there is a double wall of steel, so no big deal. This is why the carpet was cut out, because it was holding moisture. The floor was sandblasted, primed, and painted with enamel to slow down any advancement of rust. I believe all other floors are good. So, as far as metal patching you're looking at that floorboard and possibly the rockers
