This auction is for a very nice 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser. This is a brief history of the car. The car was purchased new in Charleston South Carolina by a computer service company in 2006. The company was hit hard by the recession and in early 2009 decided to close and liquidate its assets. I purchased the car in Feb. 2009 from the owner of the computer company, it had 35000 miles at that time. The car was for my step daughter who was returning home after her husband was killed while serving in Iraq. The car was in excellent condition and I thought it would be a big improvement over her late husbands old pickup truck. Although she liked the car and has put over 20000 miles on it with absolutely no problems, she said she had always wanted a VW convertible and her husband had promised to get her one when he came home. I thought the VW convertible thing would pass but it has not. She has had a tough time adjusting to her loss (they were married less than 2 years) so earlier this year I found her a beautiful Cream colored VW Turbo Convertible. I advised her to keep the Cruiser just in case her convertible fascination should begin to wane. Wane it has not, she is in love with that car (something I have rarely seen in a woman). She hasn't even looked at the Cruiser since she got her Bug, so it is time for it to go. The car had been sitting for several months so I took it to my mechanic and had it serviced, new fluids, filters, plugs, and throttle body cleaning. It runs great, the transmission shifts smoothly, the AC, CD player, and all the power accessories work as they should. It has a new set of TOYO tires with less than 10000 miles on them. The car has never been wrecked and is a southern car with no rust anywhere. The car is not new and therefore not perfect, it has the normal dings you would expect in a 4 year old car. The photos show the two most prominent exterior blemishes, one is a small dent beside the left tail light (could probably be pushed out), the other is a couple of scratches on the top of the back bumper It also has a couple of windshield chips, and some light stains on the seats. It is a really good car that has been regularly serviced (Mobil One synthetic oil) and with continued care should provide the new owner with many more years of reliable service. I am convinced the Cruiser will outlast the VW (turbos are not known for years of trouble free service), but the Bug can do something the Cruiser can't, it makes her smile, and considering what she has been through, that's all that matters. I am retired so depending on location I may be willing to deliver the car for actual cost which could save the purchaser some money over having it shipped. Thanks for looking.
