Vehicle Detail
I'm selling my 1984 Honda VT500 complete parts bike... It's a "Parts Bike" only because I haven't seen it run... I only bought it a short time ago, (several months) and I bought it as a non-running parts bike to use for my wife's bike of the same brand and model... I'll probably kick myself for selling it, but I'm already getting tired of moving it around the garage to make room for cars and such.... When I bought it the guy simply told me it backfired and died, then it wouldn't start... It sat for a year in his garage before I came along and bought it... I kind of had plans to dig into it and see exactly what was wrong with it, but just never found the time, and the more I think about it, the more I realize I probably won't... When I bought it I figured since my wife has the same bike, if I could fix it, we'd have a matching set... (They're neat little bikes) Or at very least, I'd have any parts I may need for her bike... The more I think about it the more I realize, I don't want a matching bike, and I'll probably never need many parts for my wife's bike because she rarely rides it anyway... I've never put a wrench to it, and now it's being stored in my spare van as I had to get it out of the garage... The pictures are only of the right side, because I didn't want to pull it back out of the van to take more pictures, but the left side looks about the same and it is complete. As I said, I never laid a wrench on it, nor have I removed anything... I have absolutely no idea what's wrong with it, but (knowing what the guy I bought it from said) I have this sneaking suspicion that it may be very little.... The bike shows just over 22,000 on the clock, and is really not in bad condition... It needs a rear tire badly, but other that that, from what I can see, if it was running, it would be a pretty nice looking run around town bike.... The seat has a couple small tears but it's been "kinda" repaired with (I believe) rubber cement, and the left rear turnsignal is broke and hanging, but the guy gave me some extra turn signals, and they'll go along with the bike. OK.... It's not a beauty queen, but I've seen bikes in the Wal-mart parking lot in much worse condition. Remember, you do have to keep in mind that it is 26 years old.... I'm available 7 days a week if you'd like to look at it, and I encourage anyone who is contemplating bidding to do just that... The picture of the left side looks like the tank is smashed but it's not, look close, that is just a reflection, in fact the left side of the tank is in better condition than the right, the tank is in pretty good condition with only a few minor dings and nicks, and the inside doesn't look bad either. If someone really wants more pictures, I can move it around in the van and take em, and if someone lives nearby, (since it's already in the van) I could probably be persuaded to deliver it for a little extra but this would have to be discussed before you bid, do not assume this bike comes with free delivery, it does not.... My phone number is 715-425-2338 and I'm located about 10 miles east of the MN WI border (east of St Paul Minneapolis) just off of Hwy 94... Call me and ask questions, come out and take a look... Really... Please be sure before you bid as listing ads on eBay costs money and time... Thanks for looking and remember.... 4 wheels move the body, but 2 wheels move the soul!
