Vehicle Detail
1967 TR4A Solid Axle Roadster for Restoration or for Parts. We purchased this car about 30 years ago and began to restore it, but after college, a job, a family and many moves it still remains in a basket waiting for a chance for a new life. The good: The engine was completely rebuilt back in 1980 - new pistons, cylinder liners, crankshaft, bearings, professional valve job. There was maybe an hour of running since the rebuild. There wasn't a problem with the transmission and I believe that the clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing were replaced when the engine was rebuilt. The bad: The body has the typical british roadster rot. A lot of the rusted pieces were cut out in anticipation of replacing the panels - It will need floors and rockers along with at least 1 rear fender (possibly 2). I have the majority of the parts that came off the car along with some spares. All Triumph parts that I have will be sold along with the car. The engine was started about 10-15 years ago and it fired right up. The Title: The vehicle was purchased from a dealer by my father, but never titled in his name prior to his passing. I have all of the sales documentation, original title, dealer reassignment, and odometer statement. I will work on having a Delaware title issued in my name prior to the sale - it shouldn't be too much of a problem. As you can see from the pictures, the car will not drive or easily roll since the tires are flat and dry rotted. Please plan to bring the necessary transport to move the car. The car is for sale locally - the Seller reserves the right to end the auction early. Please ask any questions before bidding. On Jul-25-10 at 10:27:29 PDT, seller added the following information: It's alive!!! I had an opportunity to start the engine today. After a little lube for the cylinders, a battery, some gas, some water, and some starting fluid, she sprang right to life. Good oil pressure, sounds good and no leaks. Amazing -Thanks David for stopping by.On Jul-29-10 at 09:42:46 PDT, seller added the following information: More information on the Title situation: The title is more complicated and will take several weeks to process. I visited DMV and was directed to the Register of Wills. Unfortunately, the Will was not properly recorded so I need documents executed on behalf of my father's estate by all surviving heirs. Once these documents are properly executed by everyone, I need to return to the Register of Wills to receive the necessary paperwork for DMV. Hopefully, at that point I can have the title issued in my name which can then be transfered to the buyer. If you have any questions, please contact me. Thank you.
