Vehicle Detail
This is one sweet, great running Mach1. A brief history: My brother and I purchased or should I say rescued this car in july 2006. Someone had taken a nice medium blue M code Mach and tried to turn it into a Boss 429 clone. What are some guys thinking? Engine ran rough, trans rough, and several minor issues or screw ups with the wiring, vacuum lines, etc. Good things: the car had been stripped to bare metal and every little dent repaired. Body was very straight. No rust or repair panels. All good original metal. All floor pans and trunk pan were rust free. Car had a decent paint job and all the areas were covered to make it impossible to detect a color change. Sub frame connectors had been installed. Car had a nice option list and the A/C, pwr brakes, and pwr steering were intact, even if not working perfect. Interior was very nice. Nice after market AM/FM Casette that looks factory. Nice set of 15" Styled Magnums in vg to ex condition. Since purchasing, we have worked to turn the car back into its original Mach1 status. I have posted several pictures including a copy of the Marti Report, that lists all the options, bulid date, etc. The best we and our mechanic can tell, the car still runs its original M code 351Cleveland 4 barrel and FMX tranny. What we have done: engine had the timing gears and chain replaced, new cam, heads reworked, all new wires, and ignition tune up, all new vacuum lines, new hoses, clamps, new belts, radiator vated, and most all the little stuff replaced under the hood. Rebuilt correct pwr str pump with new pulley. Carb rebuilt. New fuel pump. A/C evacuated and got working. Added some Freeze 12. All brakes were rebuilt, including master cylinder. Transmission was rebuilt and added the missing inspection plate and new tail shaft seal and bushing. Also installed the correct missing kick down linkage. New U-joints. Rearend drained and checked out. Good shape, added new grease. All new shocks. Front end was in great shape. Had everything greased and the front end aligned. Exhaust was good. We added new Flowmasters and added the correct chrome exhaust tips. The 15" Magnums were nice, but we super cleaned and polished the chrome. The car came with P235R15 Firehawk Indy 500 tires on rear with about 10K miles. We put new same tires on the front. Car was degreased and cleaned underneath, but not over detailed. New front seat covers installed . Original rear seat covers are great shape( std rear, not fold down). Doors panels are very nice, with no tears or rips. We installed new carpet and had the dash reburbished( no cracks or holes). We ordered and installed a $900. Rim Blow Steering Wheel. Have not got it to honk. Rubber seals around doors are very good. All new window felt installed. All the rubber bumpers were replaced inside, outside, and under hood. New trunk filler boards, new trunk mat, refurbished 70 model jack and handle. All stainless was removed and polished. Bumpers were straightened and rechromed. All glass was buffed and in great shape. 2 small stars on driver side of windshield. All the lites and blinkers work. Hood latches fit as they should and work great. Although car came with decent paint, but we decided to give it a super paint job. All trim and windshield were removed. Car was block sanded several times to get it extremely straight. The new base coat-clear coat was applied in Jan. 2010. Several coats of paint were applied. Body was color sanded and then buffed. Under the hood and every nook and cranney was repainted. This is a great very professional paint job. We ordered the original textured black paint for the hood stripes, spoilers, and louvers. New 351 tape numbers and trunk lid graphics. The prior owner has filled all the holes for the Mach 1 lower rocker panels. We have left as is and are leaving it up to the new owner to leave it or install the correct panels. The car comes with a complete set of used panels that are intact and have all the pegs that fit thru the body holes. Also included is a new 6 piece set of the top chrome that goes on top of the rocker panels. Pictures of all this included. Car runs out great, shifts right, and has plenty of power. No leaks, rattles, or squeaks. Steers and tracks great. Please view all the pictures and email me with any questions or to request my phone number. Car is stored inside at my brothers in New Mexico. We are selling to make room and get funds for another project. Car is for sale locally and by other means, so we reserve the right to end this listing at any time. Car is being sold within any warranties, emplied or consented. A $1000. deposit is due within 48 hours of auction end and final payment due within 5 days of auction end. New owner responsible for pickup or shipping. We would like car removed within 2 weeks or purchase, but are flexible. Thanks for looking and good luck. We need to move this car to make way for a new project. Average retail per NADA is 34K, high retail is 46K, and low retail is 24K. We have an excellent car at the ave.+ price, but are selling at close to low retail.
