Vehicle Detail

1974 Buick Riviera. ALL Original car with the typical Factory Luxury options, and, one of the RAREST Factory options ever offered in 1974. So Rare that some people have no idea it was available. That rare option is,,,, the experimental AIR BAG system (ACRS). Yes, an AIR BAG (Look at the steering wheel). My insurance agent actually thought I was kidding, until they saw the car in person. This was a 1-owner, senior citizen car, sold new in Los Angeles, California. I purchased it last year from the original 89 year old owner & her 55 year old son. It spent most of it's life in California before coming up to southern Oregon. It has been garaged it's entire life and VERY well taken care of over the years!! It is not perfect, and it is not a "Show" car, but it is in very nice, clean, Original condition inside & out. It has 107,000 original miles, but looks like half that amount. The factory 455-V8 RUNS GREAT and the car drives & rides like a dream, not to mention is very comfortable!! It's the Original "Silver Cloud" color paint, with a thick Black LANDAU Vinyl top, and matching Black interior. The body is VERY Straight & SOLID, with NO RUST. This includes the underside, frame, trunk, floors,,,etc,,, as you would expect from a garaged California car. Everything is in working order, but the AC does need to be recharged & the valve cover gaskets are starting to leak a little. There are a few noticeable cosmetic flaws as follows,,,,, 1. There are a few typical minor parking lot chips & "dings", mostly just on the right rear 1/4 panel (see pictures). 2. There are some cracks on the drivers door arm rest, very typical on these cars due to the heavy weight of the door. The original owner put some brown "tape" over the cracks (see picture). There is one tiny crack in the dash up near the window, so small that it's hard to notice, and the other 99% of the dash is still perfect. One seam on the bottom of the drivers seat is starting to come undone for a few inchs. Otherwise,, the rest of the interior is also Nice & Clean!! Overall, this car is STILL in very nice, clean, Original condition inside & out!!! Current NADA value >> Original MSRP: $5,678 Low Retail Average Retail Value High Retail Base Price $3,425 $6,300 $13,600 Options 455 V8 Engine 20% 20% 20% Factory Air Conditioning 5% 5% 5% TOTAL PRICE $4,281 $7,875 $17,000 Low Retail Value This vehicle would be in mechanically functional condition, needing only minor reconditioning. The exterior paint, trim, and interior would show normal wear, needing only minor reconditioning. May also be a deteriorated restoration or a very poor amateur restoration. Most usable "as-is". Average Retail Value This vehicle would be in good condition overall. It could be an older restoration or a well-maintained original vehicle. Completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. A "20-footer". High Retail Value This vehicle would be in excellent condition overall. It could be a completely restored or an extremely well maintained original vehicle showing very minimal wear. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are not in need of reconditioning. The interior would be in excellent condition. Note: This value does not represent a "100 Point" or "# 1" vehicle *. * "100 Point" or "# 1" vehicle is not driven. It would generally be in a museum or transported in an enclosed trailer to concourse judging and car shows. This type of car would be stored in a climate-regulated facility. You can BUY IT NOW for only $3500. I seriously doubt you'll find a nicer 1974 Riviera for the price, especially one with the rare Factory Air-Bag option!! And, although the 1974, 1975 & 1976 Riviera's body might look alike, the 1974 is the only one to have the beautiful 1973 Style front end with the protruding grill, front bumper & round headlights!
