A Beautiful Original and RARE CLASSIC AUTOMOBILE 1967 Austin Healey 3000, Mark III, Phase 2 (SN #HBJ8L/41154) Not restored, but preserved, this Austin Healey is a beautifully preserved original car with 45,400 miles, meticulously maintained and shown. This classic is one of the last cars made by the Healey corporation and is one of 553 limited edition cars in the last year of production marked with a Golden Beige Metallic finish (BG19). Also, It is very rare inasmuch as it has red interior (most had black), of which only 33 were built in red. The seller has owned and shown the car for 17 years. The car has been entered and admired at many car shows, and won second in class award at the Vancouver All British Field Meet. British Heritage Certificate comes with the car. Besides the beautiful appearance, this car drives like a brand new car, a joy to drive. BODY Excellent original car with 43 year old paint in excellent condition with minor blemishes, newly detailed. CHROME All original chrome with minor pitting ENGINE The engine runs very strong with outstanding power. Oil pressure at idle stays at 40 lbs. Because of the firing order, Healeys are always in balance. This car has speed and power with an added electronic ignition. TRANSMISSION Tight gears, quiet, Electric overdrive in 3rd and 4th gear works perfectly and overdrive relay set correctly. BRAKES Front disc and rear drum, all correct and working perfectly. EXHAUST All stainless steel mufflers, exhaust pipes, rear resonators and tail pipes for cruising. Nothing beats the purr of an Austin Healey exhaust sound and there is a mechanical explanation for the unique harmonic sound of Healeys and Jags of these years. WHEELS, TIRES The wheels are brilliant 72 spoke chrome wires. The tires are almost brand new radials. INTERIOR All original Red interior front and back, no scratches or tears in seats or panels, foam cushions still good, slight yellowing of clear plastic beading in a few areas. Dash wood excellent except for one break in the glove box veneer. The original, vinyl upper dash is also excellent. The original hogshead wool carpeting has been replaced with a high-end quality wool carpet that matches the original color and look almost perfectly. TOP, BOOT, TONNEAU You have never seen a replacement convertible top that fits as well as the originals. This top is original in outstanding condition. The boot cover is in great condition and the tonneau cover is original and excellent. TRUNK, TOOLS The trunk has the original Armacord, holddowns and cover, spare tire bar and strap. Complete with tools and jack. The owner’s manual autographed by Geoff Healey, son of Donald Healey, the creator of Austin Healey. ZERO RUST When the current owner purchased the car in 1993 there was zero rust in all panels. In order to maintain this high level of original integrity, the entire underside, floor panels, fender wells and any other accessible panel were coated with a premium, protective epoxy-based primer, chemically designed to prevent any future deterioration of the metal surfaces. That said, the current owner has also always kept the car in an enclosed garage and carefully ensured that it was never driven in the rain.
