Vehicle Detail

1978 Y88 SE Trans Am. Original Pontiac 400 block with 6X heads -- complete rebuild in 1997 with only 20K miles since. Bored .030 over with .010 turn on the crank. TH400 tranny -- TCI Streetfighter installed in 2004. Rear-end is a 10-bolt with 3.73 gears (original was 2.56). I've owned this car since 1996 and it has always been garaged and covered. Painted in 1997 and still looks incredible. Normal rock dings, blemishes, and knicks you would expect from 13-year old paint with light driving. No rust. Decals were applied at that time and still look great (no fading) but are not perfect (a few blemishes on the hood bird). WS6 TA with original 15X8 snowflakes all around. Everything is there and solid. Summit 2801 cam, Edelbrock Performer intake with Edel 1406 carb (600 cfm elec choke). Cereamic headers, true dual exhaust, Flowmaster mufflers. Interior completely re-done with quality restoration products including front and rear seat upholstery, carpet, headliner, console door/armrest, weather seals, and door panels. Windows were tinted in 1998 and could use a fresh re-do, but not bad now. Dash a some cracking, but otherwise in good shape -- the stereo opening has never been cut -- still has a Pioneer dual post cassette deck installed. Space saver tire still in trunk with original bottle of inflating agent and original jack. Car has factory AC -- although I recently pulled the compressor to upgrade the headers and haven't gotten around to re-installing and charging the AC -- but it worked fine before I removed the compressor. Over the years, I replaced the steering wheel and sun visors from a non-SE car (the original SE sterring wheel was in bad shape). B&M shifter -- but I still have the complete original shifter that will go with the sale, as will lots of extra parts colected over the years -- tail lights, parking lights, etc. Lots of documentation, photos taken during the restoration, reciepts, literature, build sheet, and shop manual. Optima yellow-top battery with probably about a year left in it. Tires will need replaced with the next year, but still have good tread and balance -- rears are 295-60-15's, fronts are 255-60-15's. I would drive this car cross country with confidence. I'm finally letting it go -- which will come as a shock to those that know me -- but as I get older, my desire has turned toward 60's GM big blocks. This car turns heads whenever I drive it -- which is usually only once every couple of weeks to and from work (10 miles from the house) -- or when I take it to cruise-ins and car shows. Car is sold AS IS with no warranty. Buyer is responsible for shipping. $500 deposit due with 48 hours of auction close, the remaining balance within 7 days of auction close. I can store it for up to a month in my garage for free to allow for shipping arrangments -- $100 per month after that. No tire-kickers -- winning the auction means you are buying the car at the winning price with no "haggling" afterwards. Check my feedback -- buy with confidence. This is a solid Trans Am -- and by no means original -- but a very nice example of a car that is hard to find in good shape today. It could easily be entered and compete at shows as it sits right now. The reserve is lower than what the resonable value is, but I will NOT give it away! I'm in no hurry to sell. Since the car is up for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction early. Let me know if you have any questions. Car is located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The car will not leave my possession until payment clears. I prefer PayPal -- and I will cover the fees that go with that. I'm open for discussion on other payment methods -- but will stick to the 7-days paid in full stipulation. Let me know if you have any questions. Bidders with less than 10 positive feedbacks, or more than 2 negative feedbacks must e-mail me before bidding to discuss or your bid will be removed.
