1991 PEUGEOT 405 Mi16 Sedan Desirable red over black 1991 model year (much improved from 89 model year) Just 83K miles, starts right up, idles smoothly, no strange noises, shifts, drives, and stops fine. Did I mention this car can handle? It's no Ferrari but it's very fun and blast to drive. Full service records since 52K miles including timing belt at 53k and tune up at 70k Fully functional ABS (no check light) A/C blows cold Moon roof works. No rust Everything works except heated seat and heater flap motor (converted to manual) This is a hard to find Mi16 model with very low miles. It not the perfect one but a very good example without the ridiculous asking price. If you are not familiar with this particular Peugeot model, do a Google on it. With a DOHC 16 valve engine, unheard of factory tuned 8-1 tubular steel exhaust header and slick shifting 5 speed manual transmission, this is not your grandpa's old diesel Peugeot. This car can handle and corner while still providing that legendary Peugeot ride provided by the patented 8 valve shock absorber. Being a near 20 year old car that saw daily usage, there are wears and tears. Clear coat is peaking off from the rear spoiler and 2x4" area on the trunk lid (see picture) Faded paint spot on rear right corner of the roof Front bumper is from another car, 89 Mi16 and red paint is faded Front right fender is from another car, 91 Mi16 which had an engine fire so there are some paint damage inside edge of the fender. Not visible when hood is closed. The damage to the bumper and fender is nothing more then a very minor fender bender in a parking lot and I still have the original parts to prove it. Heated seats doesn't work. Heater flap motor that controls the air temperature has been converted to manual using a choke cable mounted on the side of the center console. This conversion can be reversed and if buyer wants it fixed properly we can work something out. Lots of door dings. I was told that the original owner worked in downtown Seattle so this car must be parked in a public parking lot and collected lots of door dings over the year. But paint has decent gloss to it and certainly presentable as you see in these pictures. Some scrapes and dents on the rear right corner (see picture) Windshield is free of crack but lamination is separating slowly at the lower left corner and little bit on the right corner too. Two tires has deep thread but other two needs replacing very soon. 195/55/15 is the size. Stereo cassette player is dead Automatic seat belt is not functioning so consider it as a manual seat belt. Very common issue. This car doesn't need anything mechanically, Engine is in tune, starts right up every time, idles and revs smoothly. Gear shifts smoothly, no slip or hesitation what so ever. No strange noise. No stories to tell here. New battery just installed. No major oil leaks but being a 20 year old car, it will mark it's spot when parked in a same spot over time. Suspension is tight and smooth. Brake appears to be good but I have a set of aftermarket front and rear pads to go with the car. I am not a professional seller. This is my personal car and you probably guessed I owned more then 1 Peugeot. In fact, over 27 of them in last 20 years from old 71 504 sedan to 91 505 SW8 and 6 Mi16s in between. I specialize in 405 model and I can fix anything on this model. So, unlike other cars you see on the private used market, I will be here providing repair guide lines, parts and even services (at reasonable rate when time permitting) after you buy this car and if it breaks down. It's not like "sold as is and not my problem anymore" here. Other mechanics will run away after hearing a word "Peugeot". I can fix this car better and faster then anyone in this country. If you need parts, new or used, I can find it for you. I've been a very active eBay user since 1997. I have a family and stable day job (@Boeing) and have been living in this area for last 20 years.
