1970 Ford XL Sportsroof up for sale. I purchased the car in Oklahoma in 1987 and it needed a total restoration. It still has the inspection sticker on the windshield from Oklahoma. The 70 XL was sold new out of the HUDSPETH MOTORS INC, HARRISON ARKANSAS on 08/05/1970 as documented in the MARTIAUTOWORKS report that I have for the car. The 70 XL has been through a major restoration over the years. The 70 originally had a red interior with a bench seat in front but I converted it over to the buckets with the console. Everything has been replaced new at one time or another. At present it has a brand new FORD MOTOR SPORT 466 cu.in.big block crate motor with about 3500 miles on it. It has DOVE heads that have been milled and ported with new valves, studs and guide plates. It has roller rockers and the cam is a hydraulic flat tappet with duration of 244 int. 254 exh. lift is 591 int. and 621 exh. The intake is an Edelbrock RPM with a Holly 750 double pumper on top. It has Marsh pulleys and a Griffin aluminum radiator with a black ice coating, and Hooker headers. The big block is a real screamer and surprices a lot of people with the way it runs and sounds. But because of a bad cam that trashed that motor that's when I put in the 466 crate motor. It has automatic trans has a shift kit and been rebuilt in 2009. The interior has been also totally reupholstered with the same pattern that was used in 1970 and a new headliner was also put in. The front suspension has been rebuilt right down to the bare frame I know because I did it. The rear coil springs have also been replaced along with the rear suspension bushings. The car has been taken down to bare metal and repainted with wimbledon white with several coats of clearcoat. The 70 XL has 1970 Torino MAGNUM 500 wheels on it which really make it stand out with BF GOODRICH tires that are in great shape. THE XL IS IN THE SAME FAMILY OF CARS AS THE GALAXIE, AND WAS THE SISTER TO THE 1970 MERCURY X100 BODY STYLE. MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT THIS IS A FULL SIZE CAR AND WITH THE 466 CU. IN.
