Description I am selling my 74 Honda CB550. It does not run right now but I did have it running a few months ago. It wasn't running correctly then and had a problem with the fuel air mixture. When I would take it around the block it was way too slow in acceleration. It will try to start now but will not turn over all the way and backfires. It was given to me awhile back but unfortunately I've done all I can to try and get it running and I am out of options financially. Here's what's been done: The old carburetor was shot and rusted to oblivion. I found a working one from a 78 CB550 on ebay and replaced it. I do not have the old carb. The stock air box had to be removed because of the slightly bigger size of the throttle mechanism on the carb. I have installed 4 pod air filters because of this. I suspect that this carb will need to be re-jetted to match up with the pod filters or you will need to find a air box set from a 78. I have the original air box still and 4 new rubber boots that connect it to the carb. You will also need to attach the exhaust return from the top if the engine to one of the air filters. I have a filter on it now just to keep the bugs and creatures out but this is a return line that recycles exhaust back through the system. I haven't had the time to fiddle with this yet. I installed a new set of aftermarket coils and spark plugs. The battery is a few months old. I will throw in the charger I bought for the bike. I have a new chain for it but never installed it. I have installed new throttle and clutch cables. I'm asking $1200 or best offer and the best offer takes it. Cosmetically it has some surface rust here and there but overall it's in good shape. The tank is faded from age. There is a tear in the seat. Odometer reads 08185.7 and I have a clean title. Shipping & PaymentThe bike is in Arcadia and the buyer will need to pick it up.
