Just finished restoration or rejuvination of a rare super straight, rust free 1949 Chevrolet 3100 deluxe series pickup and it is gorgeous. Odometer showing 490 miles since completed. Miles change as it is driven. The 49 was pre wind wings on the passenger windows and the deluxe included stainless steel trim around the windows, chrome grill, stainless dash and chrome bumpers. Original straight six upgraded to a healthy 350 Chevy with headers, Edelbrock manifold, Holley carb and dual exhaust. Engine stays at 185 degrees even in 90-100 degree weather. Has a healthy cam and is very quick and responsive. Holds 40 PSI oil pressure at cruise and 20 at idle. Does not burn oil. Original transmission replaced with 350 Turbo with a new steering column and power steering. Beautiful vintage American Racing mags from the 60's. 15" on the rear and 14" on the front for that hot rod stance. Brand new radial tires from Les Schwab. Has a hard to find adjustable Deitrich Sun Visor with original hardware off a 49 Chevy PU. Photos show the visor in adjusted full down and full up. It is currently in the up position. It looks cool when it is adjusted all the way down, but I could not see the stop lights. Extras include a billet dash with old school white faced guages. A new AM-FM digital stereo that looks like the old stock AM radio. It also has an auxillary input for your IPOD and 4 new speakers Rear end replaced with newer style and all hubs are 5 bolt hubs. Outstanding CANDY APPLE RED paint using Sherman Williams base/clear with 3 coats of clear. New white oak bed with SS trim. New chrome grille, new front and rear bumpers, new custom rear roll pan, curved arm peep mirrors and more!!! Brand new gray cloth interior with new carpet and headliner. Two kinds of high end cloth used on interior (seats/door panels). It has a solid gray border with a gray dot (tweed type) insert and it looks super sharp. The original 49 seat frame was used, but the seat springs were replaced with plywood and moulded foam. These are now a semi bucket bench seat with lumbar support and they are super comfortable. A full headliner is installed and the carpet is high quality. Three seat belts are installed. Steering wheel is a LaCarra Mark 8 with polished aluminum spokes, gray leather wheels, custom horn ring and billet hub. Check out the NADA Classic Car Value for this pickup at $29,500 high retail.
