Vehicle Detail

1969 Dodge Charger, 2-door sports hardtop, V8 318 CID 1-2BBL , assembled in Hamtramck, Michigan. Up for auction is a 1969 Dodge Charger from Kansas City area, originally from Arizona via a short stay in the Chicago area where I bought it. This car still has all of its original body panels and is in really good shape and ready to be restored or just driven. This car is an original small block with an automatic transmission that runs well. The car could use a paint job, but you can see from the pictures how straight it looks. There are spots where the paint is peeling around the rear window and gas cap and some fading over the entire body. It still has the factory A/C, power drum brakes and power steering. The A/C doesn't work, although I haven’t attempted to get it going. The floor pans are solid, as is the trunk pan although there is surface rust from the trunk lid leaking. Surface rust is also starting to show on the rear lower quarter panels. The roof under the vinyl top is starting to get rust bubbles under the vinyl and should be taken off in the future and be sanded down. All the chrome trim on this car is in pretty good shape, but missing some around rear window. The car does have a small ding in the front right fender (white spot on photo) and rear driver’s side below the bumper (see photo). There are also smaller minute scratches throughout the body, but it is still a really straight car. The interior on this car is also in good, but used condition. The carpet looks good except it is worn through in a spot on the driver’s side. The front and back seats are an old restoration and look good, but missing buttons and have a couple small stains that you can see in the pictures. No significant rips, tears, or worn through spots on the seats. The headliner looks great, but has a small tear. The dash pad is in great shape. The clock doesn’t work. The dome light works, but the plastic cover is broken. The wipers, turn signals, headlights, horn, trunk light, under hood light all work. Radio is all there, but not functioning. It did when I first got it, but I never really used it and never diagnosed what the problem is. The lower door panels and sun visors are nice. The upper door panels have some minor cracks as does the driver’s side arm rest. Doors swing well, but drivers door seems to have a slight sag. It opens and shuts normally without any lifting, though. The head light door is missing on one side but I’m including a replacement door I got at a swap meet. The brakes work, but get a little squishy at times. The rear wheels and tires are too wide and rub a little on the fender when there’s a lot of weight in back, like a full back seat. This is a solid car with easily serviceable imperfections that make it perfect for someone who wants to restore it, resto-mod it, or just drive it without a huge amount of expense or body work. You can drive and enjoy while you fix it the way you want and won’t take a lot to be a super nice car. The car is being sold as is and has no warranties. Inspections are welcome and if you have any questions please give me a call at (913) 579-6986. I am not interested in any trades whatsoever. I will not end the auction early. Don’t bid unless you intend on following through with the transaction so bid confidently. On Jul-12-10 at 14:16:55 PDT, seller added the following information:I found a small radiator leak. Message me if you'd like to see a picture of it.
