Vehicle Detail
This is a very sharp 1968 Bronco, that still retains its original Half cab. It has a brand new 289 V-8 (rebuilt the original) with EVERY receipt to verify that the engine was completely redone, including .030 over bore and pistons, complete block prep including cleaning, tanking, freeze plugs, cam bearings, bore and hone, completely NEW crankshaft, all new bearings, rings performance camshaft, aluminum 4-barrel intake manifold and a Holley 600 cfm carb. All materials and labor are billed out on a 5 page long receipt from the machine shop that did the work. Every single engine component is new or newly machined, and it only has about 500 miles maximum since rebuild. The Bronco retains it's original exhaust manifolds and uses performance mufflers. It sounds great at idle with these mufflers and the performance camshaft, and even better when you step on the gas. It is in EXCELLENT mechanical condition and the body is in good condition and has not been altered in any way from stock. As you can see, the rear wheel wells HAVE NEVER BEEN CUT and still have their factory shape and are solid. The hood is still uncut without a hood scoop having been added, which is also a common modification on these Broncos. The FOUR WHEEL DRIVE (which also has a low range) works without any issues whatsoever, and the clutch is entirely new and was installed when the new motor was going back in. The Bronco still has it's original 3-speed trans, it has new Michelin LTX tires on American Racing aluminum wheels and new shocks and brakes all the way around, all of which were added when the new engine was being installed. This Bronco has power steering as well. The Body is an older restoration that is just starting to show its age if you look close. This is most visible on the tailgate where you can see some blistering under the white paint which has NOT broken the paint (no rust), and on the right rear quarter panel seam that runs horizontally front to back above the rear tire there is a very small blister in the paint the size of a dime or nickel that did break and would need to be sanded, primed and painted. Their are a couple similar minor marks in the door jambs, and the underside of the doors at the pinch weld area (not visible from the outside when looking at the truck) need redoing and repainting. PLEASE view the photos to see how minor these things are. I just want to be sure to represent it properly but I dont want to give the wrong impression --- this is a beautiful Bronco without question, but it isnt PERFECT. All factory gauges work except speedometer. I will try to fix that immediately though, and a new speedo cable is already installed in the truck, but not working properly yet. All other gauges are working well. Other things; The Bronco does have a trailer hitch if you want to pull a boat, ATV trailer or small camper. It is a V-8, and it has a very low first gear so it has plenty of pulling power. I do have a matching black steel full top in good condition(extends all the way to the tailgate) - all glass in excellent condition. This top is available seperately, and if the winning bidder wants it he/she will have the first opportunity to buy it before it is listed at auction. HISTORY: I wish I could take credit for all the work thats been done to this beautiful Bronco, but I cannot. This was a labor of love for an elderly man in his 70's , his wonderful wife and his fine son, with most of the work being done by the father and mother. This was originally a pick-up style (vin code 14N ) as it is today. At some point in the past a full steel top was installed by a previous owner, and then removed by the same family I mentioned that rebuilt the drive train and chassis, to bring the Bronco back to original condition. The Father and son also built an AWESOME AND BEAUTIFUL full race competition mud drag 1978 Bronco that the son regularly competes and WINS with. The 1968 Bronco was usually trailered along with the race truck to area events, where the parents enjoyed driving it while their son was racing. They could also be seen driving around our small rural Northwest Indiana town every now and then too. And thats pretty much all. They never would have sold it either had it not been for a tragedy. Unfortunately, less than 2 weeks before I was offered the truck by the father, he had a bad heart attack and immediate (and expensive) surgery. When he called me he said ..;."I've taken it as far as I'm going to be able to take it". Thats the truth. That's the only reason it's available. And everything that they did or had done to this Bronco, was done with the intention of keeping it. The family saved every receipt, which they gave me, and I will pass along to the new owner. Even though they did most all of the work themselves, They still put just about $8,700 in this Bronco AND THE RESERVE IS MUCH LESS! So please bid with the confidence of knowing your getting a great truck that needs a good home, at a great price. Please email any questions and I will respond ASAP. If you would rather call, my number is 219-488-4647. I can deliver anywhere on a flat bed if required at only $1.25 per mile from zip code 46310, of course all payments - including cashiers checks- will need to be verified and cleared before shipping or releasing as a buyer pick-up. Thank you. . On Jul-05-10 at 22:35:35 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDED 7-6-2010 at 12:30am Central time: I would like to clear up any misunderstandings pertaining to the wheels. I thought the man who built this truck stated they were American Racing wheels. I have taken a closer look at them today, and they look as if perhaps they might be Ford factory aluminum wheels. If it matters to anyone, send me an email and I'll pull a wheel and check the reverse side. The Mileage is listed as "1" because a numerical value was required, therefore "unknown" could not be entered. The speedometer reads 32K, but remember that it is not currently working, so I cant be sure what the actual mileage is or how long it hasn't been working. Again I will try to fix this before it is sold. Thank you. On Jul-09-10 at 11:58:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a quick note: I've noticed SO MANY modified Broncos on eBay, and they are awesome! But I want to leave a bit of advice for those looking for a modified Bronco. It would be a simple and inexpensive matter to trim the fenders, purchase the flairs and have them painted and installed. Add a roll bar for only a couple hundred dollars more. BUT HERE'S THE THING: always start with the best, cleanest truck you can find or afford, because it ALWAYS ends up costing LESS and you end up with a much better- more solid truck. Thanks, and good luck!
