I'm auctioning my 1966 Volvo P 1800 S Coupe. I have owned it for 9 years and have enjoyed it thoroughly, but it's time to put it into the hands of another. It is the standard B18 engine with the 4 speed plus electronic overdrive transmission. It was originally red, but was given a respectable white paint job, prior to my ownership, which has now become good protection. The body and undercarriage is solid with only a bit of corrosion in the battery box and a couple square inches at a rear wheel well. It is a great starter, idles smooth, and has very good accelerator response. The transmission and driveline are solid. The electrical has been upgraded to an alternator from the original generator. The interior is respectable for it's age, as all the seats show wear, but are usable and the carpets are there, but original. The seats are a more recent model of Recaro seat with the head rests, but blend fine with the interior. The clock is not working, and the windshield washer is disconnected (as it runs full time, so at least it's functioning) but all other gauges and switches are functioning. The tires are very good. This car is a great runner. I drove it home (1,400 miles) from Seattle, WA when I bought it and have taken many multi-hundred mile trips through out the Colorado Rockies, have done a good amount of work on it in the meantime, and it has never let me down. In the nine years I have owned this car, I have done the following to it; Tires and alinement, replaced all the suspension bushings with IPD Polys, replaced shocks, had Weber Carb rebuilt, replaced fuel pump, rebuilt front brake calipers, replaced rear brakes, including the cylingers, replaced wheel bearings as needed, replaced master cylinder, kept up with oil changes and valve adjustments, plus tweaked, tightened and cleaned up numerous little things on the vehicle. It can be humbly enjoyed as it is, or be worked into something quite special, regardless it is a head turner and a great conversation starter. I am including a cloth cover for her as well. Aside from the lack of artificial air conditioning, this car is ready to be driven home. We would need to adjust the timing if it is going to elevations lower then 5,000 ft. Bid with Confidence.
