It has great power and shifts without any hesitation. Like typically every other 94 Eldorado it leaks a little oil around the pans because of the two crankcases and oilpans. I wouldnt recomending driving this car above 60 mph without a little work that needs to be done. I just replaced new engine top throttle mounts. I have another 4 aluminum original rims that goes with the caddy. If I were going to make this a daily driver I would recomend having the following service done. Replace front wheel bearings, Replace rear clips. Pick out four of the best 8 wheels. Replace Tires. This has a very good shifting transmission. This would make an excellent car to use its engine or part out. The Caddy has very nice body. I have the rear right chrome corner moulding on its way. You could do a little repairs and drive. It is drivable as is around town or upto 60 mph. It has a wobble in the front end at higher speeds and wheel bearings and or tires is my guess. It is missing the plastic under the engine that may have something to do with the wobble too. Ac and sunroof does not work. The service air ride light comes on time to time it may just need a compressor. Lower Mile Cheap Car, Ive seen just these engines for $1000 with 80k miles. Ive seen these engines with twice this ones mileage. Id like to take the engine and drivetrain or just chop the whole car down to make a light weight rocket or even put this engine in a smaller ligher car. Tires are fair. Interior is Fair. Glass is all very good, Windows work great. Digital Dash Components work properly. Anti Lock Brake light comes off and on. Service Vehicle Soon Light is on. This car drives fine at 45 mph, It wouldnt be a bad grocery getter. This car appears to have had damage to the plastic under the front splitter. Due to the wobble in the front end above 60mph it deactivates the traction control. The brakes feel fine. After driving the car and starting it again the anti lock brake light comes on along with the traction control deactivated, then those lights are off the next time you drive it. This car would be fine around town as is. It has nice power and performance. Keyless Entry. Drivers Seat is Torn In several places. Just needs some TLC but you could drive locally as you fix. Here is a little info on why I like these cars: This is the 270 hp version of the 4.6L. There is also a 295 hp used in the touring coupes or ETC. The Cadillac Eldorado has been front wheel drive since 1967. Alot in similarities to the Buick Riviera and Oldsmoble Tornado throughout the years. Riviera ended in 1999. Eldorado ended in 2002 with this style until it was renamed. The "Northstar" V8, as it is known, was an evolution of the Lotus-designed Chevrolet LT5 all-aluminum DOHC 32-valve V8 used in the Corvette ZR-1. Archrival Ford Motor Company was developing a similar engine at that time as well, with its introduction on the 1991 Lincoln Town Car. Both at 4.6 L of displacement. Capable of producing 300 hp (224 kW) out of its 4565 cc displacement, the Northstar featured a cast aluminum 90° V8 block with 102 mm 4 in. bore (same as GM's 350) and pacing split into unitary upper and lower halves. The lower crankcase assembly supported the crankshaft without conventional main bearing caps. An oil manifold plate with an integrated silicon gasket forms the oil gallery under this. A typical oil change used 7.5–8 quarts of oil. Cast-iron cylinder liners were specified and the cast aluminum pistons included valve clearance. Northstar is an interference engine, with bronze pin bushings and free-floating piston pins used. Cast aluminum cylinder heads were used featuring 4 valves per cylinder. The heads used dual overhead cams which are driven through the "maintenance-free" cam-drive chain case. The cams act directly on hydraulic lifters on the ends of the valves and are fed with a lubrication passage drilled through the cylinder head lengthwise. The intake valves are inclined at 25°, while the exhaust valves are canted to 7° with center-mounted platinum-tipped spark plugs. The cam covers are magnesium for light weight. Eight thermoplastic tubes were used in the induction system, leading to sequential fuel injection. The engine used a distributorless ignition system with a waste spark setup. The PCM controls spark and fuel injection timing as well as the shift points for the 4T80-E transmission. If you have any questions or want more pictures please email me to request. I will consider Trades, Car is sold as is. Although Ive tried to describe the car the best I can. Current West Virgina Inspection. You may inspect the car please email me a time to set up. I am not currently driving this car. Thanks for your interest.
