A Beautiful and ultra authentic AC type 289 Cobra. Factory constructed in 1982 by Jerry Hawkridge, founder and former owner of Hawk Cars in the U.K., world renowned manufacturers of Cobra style motorcars. Not a kit but assembled at BRA's Factory in the UK and later updated with Hawk's improvements. All work was supervised or done by Mr. Hawridge as it was his personal car both at BRA and Hawk. Full ownership and all maintenance records accompany the car, bills of sales, MOT's, etc. High quality original red finish and black leather interior featuring Smith's gauges, wood steering wheel, wool carpet, heater and defroster. Right hand drive, tuned 3.5 litre Rover V8 developing 280 bhp, 315 ft lbs of torque, Holley, Edelbrock, fast road cam, headers, stainless mufflers and more. 4 speed transmission with electric overdrive operating in 3rd and 4th gears. Boxed and tubed custom chassis, MG rack and pinion and front and rear suspension. Spax adjustable shocks, Cobra and Hawk designed Panhard rod and sway bars, front disk brakes. Tremendous performance, solid handling and roadholding. 70 spoke Cobra style wire wheels, AC knockoffs, AC and Cobra badging. Detailed to replicate an original. You will be hard pressed as many "experts" have telling this car from an original. I know of one owner who has in England an original 289 and a car similar to mine and even he sometimes is confused! It may not be "real" but it is as close as one gets without spending $500,000! Full weather equipment, top and curtains are in excellent condition. A fiberglass hardtop is also included but does need a bit of work to match the quality of the car. Fully serviced and maintained, just this Spring completed a complete checkup, new brakes, exhaust, carb, u-joints, front and rear suspension bushings, and more, anything that was needed was done. This car needs nothing. Vermont State inspected and registered. Driven daily and it is a true pleasure. Car is located in Woodstock Vermont and is available for inspection by appointment. All emails will be answered promptly and honestly. Shipping, of course, is the responsibility of the purchaser although I will assist in any manner necessary. A $2000.00 deposit by PayPal or wire transfer within 48 hours of the end of the auction. Balance by cashiers check or wire within 10 days of close of auction, pickup within 14 days.
