So since it was a county vehicle, you KNOW it was serviced every 3,000 miles and was well maintained. I have personally engaged the 4X4 and it fully engages in 4 HIGH, 4 LOW and it even has All Wheel, 4 Wheel Drive, which I tested as well. When I purchased the vehicle, it has a spit and sputter from sitting so long. My mechanic determined that it was the spark plugs, which were changed. I have also changed 5 coil packs, fuel pump and fuel filter. I have driven this vehicle to Miami 3 times and it honestly ran better than my newer Expedition. I would not hesitate to drive this vehicle anywhere across the country. It does come with cloth front seats but the rear seats are vinyl. The front driver seat is a 6 way power seat with a memory function. Here is the kicker...the third row seating, which would normally be there, has been removed by the county when they bought it. Fire Rescue built a communications, strobe and power point area in the spot where the third row seating would be, so, if you have more than 4 people in your family, this vehicle would not work for you. However, if you’re a painter, construction worker and need extra space, this would work great. Its also a great vehicle for towing a boat, trailer or anything else with its Class 3 hitch. I would ideally like to see this vehicle go to a volunteer firefighter or volunteer Fire Department somewhere, where they can utilize the vehicle to its potential! We are about an hour to Orlando for all the Disney and Universal Studios attractions and in Tampa, we have Busch Gardens, Lowry Park Zoo and the Channelside District/Ybor City tourist area. Tampa is in the middle between Clearwater (20 mins), Sarasota (45 mins), Tarpon Springs and the Sponge Docks (35 mins), Orlando/Kissimmee (Disney) (60 mins) and of course, all of Tampa's finest. Side Note: I recently contacted the County Fleet Maintenance Garage (just out of curiosity) and asked them about the vehicle. I had wanted to know why they decided to sell the vehicle. The Service Writer, Mike simply stated...."the age determines when it gets sold! Gas vehicles are sold after 7 years and diesel vehicles are sold a little later, after 10 years". Mike told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the vehicle; but because of the age is why they sold it, otherwise, due to the economy; they would have kept it, no doubt!
