However, time and money ran out. The car is in good shape all around, much better then most vehicles you see that are pushing 30 years old. It starts right up and does not diesel when you shut it off. Shifts, steers, and stops with no trouble, although shifting can be a little rough until it warms up. I had been using this car for short trip and errands, a way to keep miles off my other vehicles. I have put less then 5000 miles on it in the last couple of years. I did service the engine, and have the filters and seals to do the transmission and power steering, which I will include. I also replaced the rear window seal which was leaking and has caused a small section of the headliner to come undone. I will also include the service books I bought. This is a simple diesel engine with out all the electronics under the hood. It is a lot of fun to tinker with and take a weekend to service this or that and be done monday morning. I also upgraded the seats and wheels, going from the steel with with caps to the Mercedes allow wheels, although the tires are in poor shape. The drivers door was replaced at some point before I bought it and never painted. A good job for a do it yourself-er, or quick job for a body shop. I still have the trim pieces for the door to match the rest of the car. The AC is the original one that came with the car is 1982 and as such does not work. I do not know if it can be brought back to life. And lastly, the Odometer broke at 281k miles, so true miles are not known. But the fact this car has made it to 300k, and is still running good is a testament to how good these cars are. This can be a daily driver, or a good piece to a restoration.
