Vehicle Detail
I present one rare bird. Numbers matching, running 1970 Superbird in hiding for 30 years, 49xxx miles showing on odometer. Not a clone not a fake, look up the VIN RM23UOA163456 on the NASCAR list to see for yourself. A "correct date code engine" as you will see in some ads is not a numbers matching car. This car has the same engine and trans it left the factory with, they are only numbers matching once, I can only assume the long term it sat waiting the finish on the restoration means we got lucky on this one, most have had their running gear replaced, before these cars were so valuable it was a lot easier to pull a motor or transmission from a yard and replace yours if you had a bad day racing, not many still have their original drivetrain. Look at the picture from the 70's, this car was wrecked in front and a Roadrunner front end was installed. It appears a fender and radiator support were replaced. It now carries a reproduction front end and the damage was repaired long ago. Gauges professionally restored, seats are original and as you can see in pictures good, engine fires right up, dash in great condition. Floors and frame rails are rock solid. My list for the resto which I will never get to is: fill the seams where the rear quarters were welded on, install carpet (included) and new headliner (not included), clean out gas tank and fuel lines, replace brake shoes and tires, send it to paint. Your list may differ, but it should not be a difficult one to finish. The heavy lifting on this one has been done for you. Restoration begun in the 1980's and never finished. Rear quarters replaced, trunk floor and patch to driver's side floor, all from that early resto. Front end rebuilt, brakes rebuilt. Motor runs strong, trans shifts as it should. I'm not going to tell you how rare this car is or what its worth, if you're a serious buyer you already know. I also will not reveal my reserve. When I say it runs I mean you can drive it around the block, but don't think you'll fly into Dallas and drive it home, car has been sitting for 30 years and will for safety need to be trailered. I have good clean title in hand. Car is subject to prior sale. By bidding buyer agrees to submit to jurisdiction of Dallas County, Texas for any and all disputes.
