Vehicle Detail
1993 900 COMMERATIVE EDITION!! #19 of 325. Black Beauty This is a RUST FREE 1993 SAAB 900 Turbo Commemortive Edition. The car was a limited edition run , “Last of the great breed” Saabs in 1993. If you are looking at this, you know the details. The car has 258,000 miles and runs beautifully. Starts up strong every time, idles perfectly. The turbo pulls hard into red, and does not smoke. There is no noise from the CV joints. This car has had (3) owners total including myself. What makes this car special is the cleanliness of the body and chasis. There is no rust under the doors, wheel wells or or any typical spots on the frame. The undercarriage is gorgeous. The car was originally bought at a dealer in Idaho, where it spent its life until around 2004. Then the gentleman who I bought it from bought the car and put approximately 100k on it, ALL highway. He lived in a remote area in WA, and commuted to Seattle. I flew out to WA to inspect the car, and bought it under the pretense that it had a bad tranny. Turned out the trans was fine and it was just a replacement of the linkage that I did in 10 minutes at my mechanics from under the car. It has always been a West Coast car which explains the rust free condition. I bought the car about 7 months ago, and it saw no bad weather here in NJ this winter. It was shipped here from WA to NJ, came just in time for Christmas! The engine bay was spotless, as shown, when I received the car. All vacuum systems are in proper working order, transmission has no known issues, and shifts beautifully. I have put only a few thousand miles on the car, and my plans were to restore it and add it to my collection, because of the rarity, and original condition of the car. Body As pics show, rust free. Has rare WHALE TAIL (looks like it was dealer painted and installed when bought new) and still has all matching original 900 CE wheels with the polished lip and gunmetal finish. Even the matching center caps. There are however a few bumps and scrapes. As shown, down the drivers side is a small dent/scrape. No rust there, but scraped. The worst of the body is the rear passenger corner-see pics. It was lightly hit. The original bumper, as shown, was not even damaged. This was reported by the previous owner and will show up in carfax to verify. It is dented in, no damage to the tailgate at all. Opens and closes perfectly. The paint is actually in good shape, and could be revived, aside form the damaged areas, with a compound and wax. The car was always garaged so there are no clear coat issues etc. To be perfect, the car would need minor cosmetic body work as described above, and paint. It still looks mean and beautiful from 5 feet. Windshield has cracks, but none in front of drivers line of sight. May need to be placed to pass inspection depending on state. Car is fully registered and inspected thru 2011 in NJ. Driven weekly. Tires are matching conti’s with about 65-70% wear. Interior Aside from the seam on the drivers seat, as shown, beautiful. The leather is all in great shape for the year, and still pillowy seats. I have done multiple LEXOL treatments and it really is a nice interior. The carpet could use a cleaning, as I never got around to it, but nice. The headliner is only starting to come away in a small corner in the rear by the back window. The sunroof cloth is a bit loose, but it really has held up well. Typical dash cracking, but much less than I have seen in others. Gas gauge and clock not working. My mechanic said that the gas gauge is not a bad fix because I saw it flicker out of the corner of my eye, so I know its not totally dead. Original radio EQ and CD player work, although my CD is stuck in there. Still plays, but wont eject. Hope you like the Grateful Dead and Buffet. Radio works fine, but flips the “code” sign every once in a while. The original SAAB code card in included in the tri fold in the glove box. A/C works coolish. All windows, sunroof work. Chasis Clean with no known typical 900 rust issues. Leaks a little power steering fluid, but I keep my eye on it and top off periodically. Exhaust is in good shape, and has classic 900 Turbo rumble.Proper 90o turbo tail pipe. New hanger in rear when I received it. Engine No known issues. Runs cool, pulls like it has 50k. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere Misc. Little things typical with a 17 year old car, but overall so solid. This is a daily driver. Overall I have tried to be as honest as I can be with this car. I am not a mechanic just an enthusiast. This car is special and still has so much life in it. I really did want to keep it forever. I grew up on these cars, and always thought that this was the Ultimate SAAB-still is. When I 1st bought the car, I brought it to a well known Swedish repair shop to all of the SAAB Net folks. They looked the car over and said it was overall solid. Suspension has 258k on it. I don’t have the service records from the original owner on this car. By the looks of the car, it was always well loved and maintained. I have the service book that came with the car that has the stubs pulled out to prove that it was dealer serviced into the 100’s but that’s all. Original books etc are included. This is a CAR FAX confirmed 900 CE. When you run the vin # it pops right up. The CAR FAX will also show the reported minor rear collision, as shown in the pics, and described. That is why there is an incident found above. The car will be as described if inspection is required. I will answer any questions as quickly as I can. Good luck. This is a great car with such solid bones that you just don’t find in 900’s anymore. The car is for sale locally as well (great 900 community in NJ!!) and I reserve the right to end the car early. There are no warranties implied or expressed. $500 deposit required within 24 hours or I will re-list the car, and release the eBay hounds. I have been more honest than most with this car, and shared everything that I know. I just do not want there to be any surprises for anyone. Its too great of a car and it belongs in the right hands for some tlc to make it new again. I do not see why this car could go to 400k. ROOF RACK NOT INCLUDED IN AUCTION. On Jun-24-10 at 12:59:35 PDT, seller added the following information:**NOTE** The actual mileage of the SAAB is 259,094, not 25,094.I enterd it incorrectly in the listing and a bid came quickly so I couldnt change it it the 'mileage' field.
