Vehicle Detail
600,000- it’s the new 40… “Hey, look- it’s one of those 1998 12 valve four door pickups. They’re all over the place, right?” Take a look at this rig. In 2003, this truck was purchased by ShowYouCare.org, a Fort Worth based charity, to acquire donated vehicles. About two years after buying this truck, the board had an opportunity to get a really good deal on a medium duty International flatbed wrecker. Since the purchase of that truck, this one has been parked and kept as a standby. Look and drive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHqPgIHlDD4 Turbo inspection: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3D2ufOZFlM Big Bonus: This truck is equipped with a hydraulically operated telescopic stealth/stinger recovery apparatus at a cost of $5000.00. For someone who is looking to get into repo, this dually is the ticket to instant income. If repo is not your thing, sell the stinger and knock some of your cost off the truck. The truck also has a Dana 80 Limited Slip rear axle with ratio of 3.50 according to the build sticker, gooseneck hitch and a large auxiliary fuel tank. How does it run? The truck runs fantastic. I have owned four of these 12 valves, and this one runs as well and with every bit as much power as the nicest out there. UNCHIPPED, UNMOLESTED DRIVETRAIN AND COMPUTER HERE. The truck has 198,659. For some reason the sixth digit shows 0 instead of 1. When purchased in 2003, the truck had 157,610. The current owner is the second owner and has put around 40K on the truck. Little puff of dark at cold crank, little puff of dark when you get on it. No smoke at idle. Starts up very quickly, and idles great. Turbo spools up beautifully, like a brand new one. The transmission is rock solid. No worries for a long time to come. I would drive this truck fully loaded to Alaska and back without fear. It shifts right on cue through every gear, and settles into O/D on the highway with precision and stays there. The front end behavior is great. The steering response will impress you, and the firmness of the front suspension on this 98 model will surprise you. It’s still tight! I get a little excited about these trucks because they truly were the absolute best that America ever made. When given the assignment to build the ad for this Dodge, I was at first disappointed that I could not buy it for myself, but at the same time ready to make sure this rig is presented so that everyone interested can know about the truck so they can make a well-informed bid. I will be more than happy to talk with you over the phone about this great vehicle. Like I said, I know these trucks, and this is a good one. When I first started working for Show You Care, I saw this truck parked in the corner and freaked out. When I was told that it had been sitting for two years, I had to crank it. It fired on the third revolution. Awesome. Bid strong, fly in, and drive it home. It’s that simple. We have title in hand that notates as a rebuilt vehicle. It looks as though the truck had taken a light hit the front. Please refer to pictures and the video for greater detail on this. Although this Dodge is not immune to the paint problems that they all experience, the truck is presentable and has a very straight body. I do know that some insurance adjusters will determine that a vehicle has been wrecked severely when in fact the damage is minimal. This appears to be the case here. The doors shut great, the hood shuts great with no rattles, it releases easily, the fenders and bumpers line up nice, and there are no weird rattles or sounds of any kind. This description is meant to be thorough, but nothing beats the human eye in person. Therefore, my description cannot be considered the complete description and should not be the description on which your decision to bid is based. If you are interested in this car, call me and we will come up with a time that meets your schedule when you can come look at it and judge for yourself! Your bid is your bond to purchase, and so your bid should be based on your personal observation regarding the value of the car. The truck can be seen at 3008 Chesser Boyer in Fort Worth, Texas, between 9:00 and 3:00 Monday through Friday. The truck can be picked up during these times also. Call me with any questions about this truck at 817 903 5320. This is a real auction that will run until the end and will not be ended early. Winning bidder gets it. Winning bidder has seven days from auction end to pick up the truck. If you want the truck but need more time to gather funds, call to discuss these circumstances prior to bidding. A deposit will be required in order to extend payment deadline. I can help with shipping arrangements. I am also able to pick you up from the airport if you want to fly in. The last time I picked up a customer of mine from the airport, the guy was from Mexico City. He bought a 1999 Dakota and drove it back down there. His positive feedback is still on my profile, mixed in with a bunch of other positive feedbacks from happy people who have purchased vehicles from me. Thank you for looking, and good luck. On Jun-23-10 at 18:12:34 PDT, seller added the following information: The interior is very nice, with all the switches and knobs being tight. The upholstery in intact, with the driver's seat stitching in great shape. The truck would benefit from an overall detail and carpet shampoo. If it were me, I would go replace the carpet with a rubber floor because it is musty from being parked. The air conditioner works great on all settings and blows cold. Show You Care is set up to accept donated vehicles through their dealer license. Please factor in the cost to register the truck, as this will be taken care of at the time of purchase if this applies to you. $0 documentation fee. Only the applicable tax and registration demanded by the state. If you are from out of state, I believe you will pay registration when you get home. On Jun-26-10 at 10:30:53 PDT, seller added the following information: If you have a feedback rating of 0-30, please contact me on the phone before you bid. If you have more than two negs in the last month, please contact on the phone. Bids are welcome and appreciated, I just want to make sure everyone is serious about the truck. Thanks. On Jun-28-10 at 10:11:32 PDT, seller added the following information: 6/28 Wheelbase: approximately 155 inches Bed length: approximately 86 inches from inside front to inside tailgate The reserve is $5490. On Jun-28-10 at 11:38:06 PDT, seller added the following information: The truck is equipped with Anti-Lock Brake system.
