Vehicle Detail

This is my wife's former car. I believe we were the third owners. Simply put, it's great commuting transportation and looks great! I'm not a car person so I'll list all the good and the quibbles below. Please let me know if you have any questions. If you need the car shipped, I will be available on my end for the car to be picked up by a transporter of your choice and at your expense. I will also have a service done before the transfer including an oil change, an AC recharge if needed, tires, and fluids checked. Warranty... I did buy a used car warranty on this vehicle that I believe is good for 4 more years and will cover an engine or transmission failure for a total insurance benefit of up to $3800. This warranty is transferable and costs roughly $125/mo and would be paid up in 1 year if you choose to continue the warranty. The Great News!-The transmission was completely rebuilt a year ago at my expense. No niggling Jaguar problems here. Internals and externals were replaced (total cost $3500).-All the brakes were redone 6 months ago (pads and rotors) with original equipment.-I have a set of snow tires on the car that are about 2 years old.-All 4 window regulators were replaced last year. These are notorious problems in the S-Type apparently, and the news ones will last longer than the car.-I had the car repainted a couple of years ago from green to black. The door jambs were not painted and could be completed by a local Maaco (see pictures), but the black looks nice.-I had a brand new radiator, water valve, hoses, water pump, and thermostat installed last winter at the recommendation of my repair shop.-Everything works, sunroof, power seats, windows, radio, LCD screens-Always serviced at regular intervals with Mobil1 synthetic oil.-Just passed Illinois emissions test last month.-Full size spare tire in trunk. The Quibbles:-There is only one key and the remote broke a long time ago and is long gone.-There is a door handle surround missing on the left, rear door on the inside (see pic) and can be bought and popped in yourself.-The fog lights don't work.-The front, left, chrome strip has a small spot of chrome missing. Pretty minor. Dealer wanted $170 to replace.-There is a "Failed Right Side Repeater" message on the dash. Don't know what it is. Was told it was the side bulb, but never had it looked at because I didn't want to pay dealer inspection costs on it.-The engine leaks 2-3 drops of oil when you park it. I was told it was valve cover gaskets, but I had a mat in my garage and the oil level never ran low.-There are some small tears on the door panels and one tear in the middle of the rear seat (see pic). They don't affect anything. The leather is in fair condition consistent with its age and use with kids.-The CD disk changer works but I lost the disc cartridge and so it is not included.-There are a couple of small dings. I tried to photograph but they were too small to see in photos. There are two slightly larger dings in pictures... one on the right side of the hood and one on the left fender. Neither are very prominent.-The glass is all original and there are some minor scratches but no cracks. The headlight lenses are extremely slightly faded but look much much better than any other 2000 S-Type I've seen.-As I mentioned, the door jambs, and the inside of the trunk are still British racing green, but aren't visible unless the doors/trunk are opened. I once took it to Maaco to have them quote to paint it, and it was $400, but I never did anything about it. If you're handy, you might even be able to do it yourself.-The glove box door stop is broken and the glove box door opens all the way. Not a problem... just FYI. That's really it. It's a nice car, and if we could've held onto it, I would've liked it for our kids, but it needs a new home. A $500 deposit is required within three days of auction end, and the remainder due within seven days of auction end or upon pickup (whichever comes first). On Jun-25-10 at 11:17:54 PDT, seller added the following information: More good news! I was going through service receipts and I forgot that last summer, I had a complete tune-up including replacing the ignition coils which are very expensive, so the car should not need a tuneup again for 50,000+ miles.
