This is a very nice condition 1973 Ford LTD. It runs and drives great and has many new parts. It is very reliable. PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION...I WILL INCLUDE MANY NEW PARTS THAT ARE NOT IN THE PHOTOS. ALSO READ ABOUT MY FREE DELIVERY OFFER (if it applies to you). This has been my daily driver for the past year and a half and it always starts, even on the coldest of Iowa winter days. It is killing me to do this, but I bought a conversion van for my job and I can't afford to keep 2 cars around any longer so the LTD has got to go. MECHANICAL CONDITION: The car has been very well taken care of over the years. Before I bought the car, it had been stored inside for a number of years. Since I have owned it, the 460 has had regular oil changes and runs great. I just had new spark plugs and points/condenser installed as well as some other work done. I have all the receipts for this work. The transmission shifts great and the brakes are in good shape. The shocks/struts seem to be doing fine. I just had brand new whitewall tires put on a few months ago since the tires that came with it when I bought it were bald. It also has a brand new exhaust system plus a Thrush muffler to give it that throaty sound...cheaper than Flowmaster but I think it sounds the same. The heater and air condition work great, but the speed control on the blowers doesn't work...only FULL ON/OFF. I will include a replacement speed control switch that I picked up but haven't had time to install yet. The headlights, tail lights, turn signals, brake lights, dome light, and instrument lights all work. However, as far as I know the small side lights between the front wheel wells and bumper are not working...I've never bothered to mess with them because most modern cars don't have them. The clock is currently not working, but I will include a working replacement that has not been installed yet. The 8-track player works great, and the radio works but the only way to tune it is to tap the selector buttons lightly until the desired station is reached. The tuner knob doesn't work. I will include a working radio from a similar era LTD that works, but doesn't have an 8-track player. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere. COSMETIC CONDITION: Overall, this car looks nice. The interior is incredibly clean. All the green carpet is new. The headliner is spotless, the dash is smooth and spotless. The original fabric on the seats is in very nice condition except for the small rip on the driver's side. The plastic units that house the door handles and ashtrays are beginning to come loose from the door panels, but this doesn't affect the doors or handles at all...it is merely the plastic housing coming unglued from the door panels. As for the exterior, the white vinyl top is NEW and is in very nice condition. The original green paint is starting to fade a bit and there is a small amount of surface rust in certain areas (see pictures) but not much. There is a dent in the driver's door. The front bumper is in nice shape, but the rear bumper is rusty. I WILL INCLUDE A BRAND NEW NOS REAR BUMPER that I ordered but haven't installed. Also the right turn signal light housing is cracked. I will include 2 perfect condition replacement turn signal lights. Also, the original badly rusted trunk lid was replaced by the previous owner with one from a Galaxie 500, as you will see in the pics. SHIPPING/PAYMENT: I will only accept payment via a cashier's check or cash in person. $250 of the final price for the car must be deposited via PayPal within 48 hours. I would be willing to deliver the car under certain circumstances. I am located in Des Moines, Iowa. I will deliver the car FOR FREE within 5 hours of Des Moines. HOWEVER, I must be paid in full before I deliver the car. Once I receive my payment, I'll drive the car to your front door, hop in my buddy's car, and head back to Des Moines. I might be willing to deliver farther than 5 hours, but I would require compensation for gas money for both the LTD and my friend's car. Let me know where you live and make me a deal. I'm flexible when it comes to delivery. If you live too far away, it's up to you to come pick up the car or arrange to have the car shipped. I don't want to spend a bunch of time arranging to have the car shipped...you set it up and I'll do what I can to help out.
