Vehicle Detail

Yeah, well I bought it years ago from a barn and then I recently found it again in one of my barns! What we have here is a genuine SCCA-raced Austin Healey 100-6 sports car, the first series of the Big Healey (well, if you don't count the prior series of 4 cylinder models, the 100-4. (I used to have one of those, too). This car was originally raced in the late '50s and early '60s by such legendary drivers as Terry Jesk and Bob Lester. I believe they raced out of the Chicago Region of the SCCA. This car is complete, but needs a total restoration, including the engine, to be an A-1 vintage racer. All of the body parts necessary to do this restoration are included with the car. I'll even throw in a spare, rebuildable engine. Actually, that's required because the engine in the car, while it turns, doesn't move the #5 piston up and down, so something's broke down there. But the spare engine is complete and turns, so between the two, one good engine should be able to be resurrected. In addition, it has been pointed out to me that the car would be quite suitable for restoring as a very nice street, show, or cruise-in vehicle, or... heaven forbid, someone from the modified healeys group might want to turn this thing into a mini-Cobra by dropping in an American small V-8. The car has many possibilities. Vehicle has no convertible top, but does come with side curtains, original seats, some extra wheels, many engine parts: head, cam, regrindable crank, rods, complete clutch, oil canister, intake and exhaust manifolds, etc. Has original roll bar and an overdrive switch on the 4-speed gearshift. The wheels are steel, not wire wheels. Car will need to be upgraded to a fuel cell, a fire system, and a new racing seat with current harness. If you are the winning bidder, a $500 deposit must be received via Pay Pal within 3 days. The balance will be due in cash on delivery, or alternatively, a bank check may be sent directly, but will delay release of the vehicle for as much as 14 days while we wait to be sure that the check is valid and clears. Another option is that you might arrange a direct wire transfer to my bank - please let me know if that is how you would like to arrange payment and I will set it up with the bank. I can arrange to deliver the vehicle anywhere east of the Mississippi (and a few areas of states just west) for $.70 per mile and if you accept my "Buy It Now" price, I will deliver the car within 500 miles of Columbus, Ohio for FREE! The car is also available for sale to foreign/overseas purchasers, but all arrangements: export-import documents, pickup, shipment to port, insurance, shipping arrangements, etc. must be handled and arranged by the purchaser or purchaser's agents. Car will be released when fully paid for and vehicle must be insured against any and all loses when it leaves my property. Happy Bidding!
