Vehicle Detail

1968 Ford LTD Classic Engine is 390, 8 cylinder Hidden headlights Runs very well Dual Exhaust (I believe previous owner had this new installed a few years ago) Automatic transmission is very good, no problems New battery recently - I bought the most powerful one store had - highest cold cranking amps. Carburetor rebuilt last year As you may know, the Ford LTD and Ford Galaxie are very similar in the last 60s and early 70s. Ebay has a category for Galaxie, but NOT for LTD. The only place you can put LTD is in "other" but that does not seem like the best place. Whenever I look for LTD or Galaxie, I look in Galaxie, so that is the reason I put the car in this category - so folks can see all the options on both LTD and Galaxie since they are so very close. This car is the LTD. Interior is in good condition, except dash pad has cracks. Wood grain is very nice still. Upholstery good condition. Previous owner Pat had front seat re-upholstered a few years ago. Repairs needed: 1) NEEDS brake work 2) NEEDS interior fan fixed 3) Hidden headlight covers do not come up automatically - can be pulled up - I think this is vacuum line issue (?) Exterior color is very light green. Interior also light green/tan with black dash w/brown wood grain Suggestions to look great: New tires/wheels Minor body work & new paint job I bought the car in Boulder, Colorado about 3 years ago on Ebay. At the time I was living in GA, so registered car in GA and got a new Georgia title. I do have a good clear, title to this car. I had it in storage for 1.5 years, then here in Colo at my house for 1.5 years. Only drove it a few times because I never got around to fixing brakes yet, and most of winter is very cold with lots of snow since I live at almost 9000 feet elevation, so not good car for snow so I did not get around to fixing brakes yet. I really wanted to continue to restore car, but now that I finally got some money to do that, I am about to move across country. I am moving to OHIO in mid July, so thought I will go ahead and throw car on Ebay to see if someone wants it as is for cheap price. Runs great. To look nice I think it should get new tires and some nice looking wheels, some very minor body work (dings/dents - there is no major body damage - see pictures) and nice paint job. Then should be worth around $2500 to $3000 or more easily. I would like to get around $950 to $1200 for car as it is now. IF I do fix brakes and/or get new tires and/or wheels and/or paint job, of course I will ask higher price for the car if it does not sell in this auction, or possibly keep it - hang onto it for a while to enjoy. I really am only offering it for sale now because I have another vehicle I must drive cross country when I move from Colo to Ohio, and so I would have to pay to ship the LTD over 1300 miles. Any questions, feel free to email me. Thanks for looking. Happy bidding. Oh yes, by the way. I have used Ebay actively and with 100% positive feedback for over 5 years. Somehow my account got messed up in Ebay system last year, and Ebay has not been able to fix it after 7 emails and 3 phone calls and many promises - some strange computer glitch/bug. So I finally gave up, opened new account. I am a seasoned Ebayer. I have bought many pianos, several cars, and sold a few items on Ebay over the last 5 years. VERY LOW RESERVE. I will only accept green cash for payment in person if picking up car locally. If long distance buyer, USA only, and US Post Office money order or bank cashier's check is acceptable, or wire transfer into my bank account. I will not sign over title until check clears with my bank and I have cash in hand. My name is Ed Behrens. On Jun-16-10 at 19:56:48 PDT, seller added the following information: 8:40pm MDT June 16, 2010 this additional to my auction description hereby becomes part of this Ebay auction. 1) BIDDER REQUIREMENT: In order to bid on this auction, you must have at least 8 successfully completed Ebay transactions and positive feedback number of 96% or higher. If you have less than 8 or lower number and wish to bid, you may contact me to apply for an exception to this, and complete what I consider a proper identification of yourself both by email and phone. So I will cancel the bid of anyone who places a bid that has less than 8 feedback or lower than 96% unless they have contacted me first and completed their identification to my satisfaction. In case you don't know why this is, there are many scammers who can easily ruin an entire auction and cost seller lots of listing money otherwise. Sorry for any inconvenience to those new to Ebay. 2) MORE DETAIL ON BRKAES: In my description I put fact that the car "needs brake work". I want to be very clear, and more specific, so there is no misunderstanding. The car is NOT drivable now (safely) unless going very slowly on back roads with no traffic, because the brakes have almost NO stopping power right now as they are. The engine runs real good, but the car does NOT stop unless you are going very slowly or up a slight hill. So please bid accordingly. I do not believe anything in the braking system will be very expensive to fix, but please do NOT expect to win the auction and come drive the car to Denver or out on any regular road. If you are someone who wants to fix the brakes yourself, you are welcome to do that in my driveway before taking car home, provided you can complete that task by June 27, 7pm. Winner is welcome to tow car to shop or home or wherever they want of course. Please understand I will not be responsible for your safety or damage to car once you leave my driveway, and everyone is hereby advised car is NOT driveable in its current condition because of brakes and must be towed away OR brakes fixed here before driving away. One ameture mechanic told me back brakes need complete rebuild, that front ones look OK. Previous owner said he thinks problem is the booster, needs new one (about $120). If I were buying car I would certainly put on new master cylinder to start, since very cheap & easy to get to, then go from there. I have not had a qualified mechanic check out brakes. You are welcome to come do that before auction ends if you wish, so you can bid with better knowledge. Thank you for understanding. 3) TIME FRAME TO PICKUP CAR: If the car sells in this acution (remember payment is required within 3 days of auction end) and I am hereby adding the condition that the car must be removed from my property by Sunday June 27, at 7pm local time at latest.
