Something different ! 1983 Baur factory conversion (rare),unique targa top convertible,(built in rollbar) 5 speed, LSD, body restoration 4 yrs ago, any rust was either cut out and replaced and/or sand blasted = no rust. Zender body kit & spoilers,koni adjustable shocks & springs,25mm front anti-roll bar,rear anti-roll bar,nice clean interior,Recarro bucket seats,cd player, new dash cap,lots of recent new parts. Great example of an old school Bimmer,a really neat looking useable classic that runs well and is also economical capable of 30 mpg. Lots of time and money spent on this little car ,over $3 k in receipts for parts in the last year or two. Runs well and is very good mechanically. Like many cars of the 70s & 80s this car needs to be in the hands of a mechanically inclined enthusiast. If I was to keep it I would do a m20 or m44 engine conversion.(no time). Too many other projects. I,ve owned this car for the past 5 yrs, its been mainly a weekend ride. Mature owner never dogged. Recent parts: new Superlite wheels & tires 6x13s,propshaft,poly steering rack bushes,lots of fuel injection parts,clutch master cyl.,stainless brake lines,susp. bushings, tank sender unit,speedo head gears,front control arms, plenty of other bits & bobs. Car comes with set of stock alloys, stock suspension,extra rebuildable LSD diff &,misc. e21 parts. Here,s the negative: AC has a leak won,t hold freon for more than a week, minor oil leak on engine (Typical),rear window is showing its age & has a small repair,has an irritating vibration on the rear end at 55-60 mph (needs a new bearing on the pass.side output flange on the diff or it could be the driveshaft CV going bad).
