This is a two owner Mercedes which has lived all of its life Southern California. It was originally purchased on October 8th, 1974 at Lloyd Pearson Mercedes in Pasadena, CA by the original owner. It remained under his ownership until 2003, when the second owner in Glendora, CA purchased it. The odometer reads just over 47k and is docummented through service papers to be original miles. The paint is original and in near perfect condition. I have never owned one so original and so pristine! You can easily tell this car has been garaged most of its life. The paint was just buffed and waxed and looks beautiful! This SL is also life long California car, so it HAS NEVER SEEN SNOW! The car is solid with no rust. The body on the car is laser straight. The German cloth top on the car is like new and in excellent shape with no tears or rips at all. The top is fully functional with no issues and always goes up and down. Even the original top bows and frame under the soft top shine like new. All glass is original with no cracks or chips. The tires are only a few years old but in good condition and are matching Bridgestones all the way around. The 14" steel wheels have the original beautiful color matched hubcaps which make the car look really classy. The beautiful palomino interior is all original and looks like new. The interior really is in flawless condition and shows how high quality materials Mercedes used in building these cars. Everything works in the car.. lights, gauges, radio, seats, windows, locks, a/c blows ice cold, etc. The car currently has the original AM/FM Becker radio and all of the original radio books! It is fully operable. The dash and wood surfaces have no cracks whatsoever. All carpet and vinyl surfaces are in like new condition. This really is as close to brand new as you can find. Mechanically, this Benz is in excellent condition and runs and drives great. It has very healthy and very quick and 4.5L V8. These engines are internationally known as going over 300k without rebuild and are built in the highest quality. The car has a very strong 4spd automatic transmission that shifts perfect. This car is very clean under the hood and really shows how its previous owner took excellent care of it. This car has just under $4,000 in receipts for recent work. The car was brought in for inspection last October. The technician installed a new water pump, thermostat, hoses, and belts. In 2003 the transmission had a full service including reseal. The rear main seal was also replaced. The AC was converted to 134a as well. It blows nice and cold! Needless to say this car doesn't leak a drop and runs like a top!
