Up for auction is a fully loaded 2005 Town and Country Limited Minivan. This is a perfect car for hauling kids around and for long trips. This car ran fine up until the oil ran out - best we can tell the oil change folks did not put enough oil in it, but they wouldn't have any of that discussion... So right up front please understand that if you buy this vehicle you will have to replace or repair the engine - please do not bid unless you are capable of repairing this vehicle. It surely needs all new bearings and surfaces reground from the crank to the cam shafts. I would have put an engine in it myself but the garage is full of other projects and the home owner association frowns on that type of stuff in the driveway. If you can do this job yourself, you can have a very nice minivan really cheap. When I listed this, there were at least two engines on ebay that would drop right into this car - both for less than $1,000 (one is $690 in FL) You'll need an 05 3.8L VIN L engine. Please do not bid on this car unless you are prepared to replace or repair the engine. The engine runs, but it is best to keep it under 2K RPM. I have driven it to the dealership (they wanted $5K for a reman motor job) and back with no problem other than deliberately going very slow. I would not plan on driving this out of here if you win the auction - bring a trailer or tow dolly to put it on. If you live close enough to Spriggs Road and Route 234 (Dumfries Road) that you can get it home without getting on the Interstate then you may be OK driving it. Now the good part. This has been a super reliable car that has served us well. We were fixing to take it to FL this summer before the whole oil thing. Although the car has a trailer package, it was never used to tow anything (the trailer prep package did not come with a receiver so...) The extra cooling ought to mean the transmission is doing just fine. I am the original owner. The car has never been wrecked. As you can see from the pictures it is in good shape. There are a couple of scratches and dings and a few places inside where the kids spilled something. The rear most overhead storage bin is loose - one of the latches is broken. The rear floor mats are included but not shown - we spilled a cleaner on them that took the color away in spots. The wireless headphones come with it along with the DVD remote control. The headphones have seen their share of use, so you will have to repair the part that goes across the head. One of them has been repaired (with a Popsicle stick!) and works just fine. I know the remote works. I have not tested the headphones recently but they worked last time we went on a trip (last summer) They will all probably need batteries. The car has a valid VA inspection. The tires are OK - I wasn't planning on replacing them for a year or more. Other than what is mentioned above, everything on the car works just fine - there are no surprises. If the engine was fine then Kelly Blue Book shows this car at over $13,000 for a private party transaction for "good" condition. So if you are mechanically inclined, you can buy and repair this car for less than half that amount and have a perfect car for hauling the kids and around and going on trips. You would come out with a used, top of the line minivan with a DVD player and a navigation system for about half of its value (once repaired)! Balance must be paid at pickup in cash only. Please bring all of the cash when you come to pick it up - the final ebay price is the final price. I will not let the car or title go for less than the auction price or if you bring a check or any other form of payment. (No matter how far you drove) I do not want to seem mean, but the deal is the deal. I cannot ship this car - the shipping quote at the top of the listing is something ebay adds - again, I cannot ship this car.
