'71 LeMans Sport Convertable - made into a GTO like clone. Has GTO Hood, GTO Ralley II wheels, GTO Sway bar, professionally rebuilt 400ci engine (the Engine Factory) and the following NEW & Rebuilt parts: New Radiator, new dual exhaust, new edelbrock Carb and new Intake, new Accel plug wires, new chrome valve covers (summit), new BFG tires, new Gas Tank, new front-end (Centerlink, tierods), new driver door hinges, used Ralley II wheels, new battery, new HEI Ignition, new Hedaman headers, new motor mounts, new water pump new carpet (2002), new brakes, new door jamb sill plate and emblems (400), used GTO hood, new trunk bottom sheet metal. $10,000 into the car and mechanicals. I also still have original AC compressor and condenser and all brackets & hoses. Worked when I bought the car, I did not reinstall because it robs horsepower and adds weight. I have been told that AC and a Convertable top is very rare. I also have the original intake and the aftermarket intake (Offenhauser) that was on it when I bought it. I have the original Radio, air cleaner, distributor and carb all in the trunk. I have the video of the Engine Factory rebuild of the 400 engine. It is bored .030 over stock except for Ram Air III cam and lifter upgrade. They did a 3-angle valve job, new pistons, rings, bearings, crank was allign bored, Run and tested at the Engine Factory (NJ) and videoed before sending to me to install. Car has been driven only about 7000 miles since the rebuild in 2000. Hydraulic auto top opener/closer works perfect. Needs: I did all of the mechanicals. The car's needs paint, it's repaint (before me) is getting older. It looks good from 20-30 feet but has the normal driving chips in front, there are a few scratches (see pictures -close up of front, last pic) and the chrome rear & front bumpers needs to be rechromed. Been sitting in the barn for 2 years, really needs to be detailed but Starts, Runs and drives great. I was going to paint the front bumper to look like the GTO's enduro bumper but I have other cars an never got to the paint. The top has 2 tears (see side pictures) and needs to be repaired or replaced (online tops are $190). The seats have covers on them because they are torn, just from being very old. And speedo does not work (I think it needs the spedo gear at trans), never did while I owned it. Also, needs GTO hoodsprings, LeMans springs are weak. I have $10,000 into the car and the paint would just be too much, especially since it looks fine.
